Dear Planter,

Powerful Planter,

You’ve planted the seed and now you are waiting. The waiting can be tough but it is worth it. You may be weary, you may be tired, and you may be frustrated but keep watering. Planter, keep tending to the ground. Oh planter, keep on making sure that the seed receives sunlight.

You may say, I’m no gardener. You may believe you don’t have a green thumb-but you do! Your seed you’ve planted for your business will sprout. The seed you’ve planted for your marriage will grow.

Seeds are so many things-your prayers, your tears, your faith, your money, and your time. You’ve sowed money into developing your non-profit. You’ve sowed time in spending time with your children. You’ve sowed intentionality into your relationships. Planter, you will reap what you sow!

Planter, we are declaring and decreeing right now that your non-profit will prosper! Your relationships will flourish! Your children will declare the name of Jesus! Your marriage story will be a testimony! You may be sowing tears of sorrow but joy is coming! You are sowing prayers into that dream, it will manifest!

Powerful planter, be encouraged. Keep fasting, praying and seeking the Lord-the Lord is increasing your harvest right now! Powerful planter, the generations come after you needs your seeds. Powerful planter, your work matters-the harvest is coming!

With love,

If you don’t know Christ as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer with us:

“Father, forgive me for my sins. I confess with my heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Thank you Father for saving me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.”

Congratulations, your salvation journey has now begun! If you prayed that prayer, let us know by emailing us at so we can continue supporting you on your journey!

The world wants you to think that you are unfinished until you obtain the next “thing”. Its always another item you need in order to be done, according to the world.

PhDs need specific certifications in order to get specific jobs. There is always a bigger home to obtain. There is always a bigger car to obtain. There is always a newer cell phone to get.

The world tells us that there is always something else you need in order to be complete. The lies of the enemy will have us continuing to search for the newest, biggest, shiniest “thing” to obtain so that we can say that we have arrived. Let’s stop falling for the lies and schemes of the enemy! He will have us chasing after the wind when Christ tells us that He is all we need. The Word says so:

Yes, pursue those goals. Yes, go after that certification. Yes, get that bigger home for your growing family. However, do it because you are complete in Christ, not because you are searching for completion. The Father knows that you are perfect in Him. The Father knows that nothing on this Earth will make you whole but Him as He is our Creator.

A husband is wonderful. Kids are lovely. New jobs are pretty cool. But nothing compares to God! Nothing compares to being content with where He has you. Nothing compares to His peace. The Author and the Finisher of your faith, the One who knows the number of hairs on your head-He is the only One who can complete you and make you whole. He is the One to pursue and He will lead you to those God-directed goals.

You are complete in Him, sis!

Their god to the Lord God…

Your life change a person’s life. Yep, yours. You may begin to reflect and see the tons of mistakes or rough choices that you’ve made and begin to number the reasons why that isn’t not true. But quite the contrary friend! The Lord can (and probably already have) use your life to be transformative!

You matter to your sphere of influence. Let’s look at Jonah. (This is a very abbreviated version!) He’s commanded by the Lord to go and preach to the people of Nineveh. Scared and unwillingly, he hops in a boat for elsewhere. A storm comes, those on the boat begin to cry out, “each to their god”:

“Then the mariners were afraid, and each cried out to his god. And they hurled the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep.” ‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

They cried out to a “little g”, someone who did not have the capability to save them. However, these men were not blind, they could discern that there was someone in their presence that could impact their situation for the better. Jonah was there, it was the Lord to whom they bowed. These unbelieving men cried out to the Lord because of the presence of Jonah:

See the transition?! They went from the little g to the One who could save their life! Jonah’s disobedience lead these men to cry out to the Living God! Now, this is not approving sin or disobedience-not at all! This passage of scripture tells us that we can be used to plant the Word of God into those who do not believe. This Word tells believers that they can water seeds already planted. We don’t know which of the men on the boat received salvation. But what we do know is that God’s name were on their lips.

You may say that you aren’t equipped. You may even be running right now from the Lord. Friend, you can ALWAYS be used by the Lord to bring forth salvation. Believe the Lord when He says that your light will shine in darkness. Believe the Lord when He tells you that your life matters. Believe the Lord when He leads you to call that unsaved loved one or encourage others, you can be the catalyst to introduce someone to Christ!

Know that no matter what you’ve done or what has been done to you, you can be used by the Lord for His glory and your good!

I Got the Power!

Disclaimer: I’ve missed you all! My household came down with pneumonia, me included! We had to get better before I could come back here. To God be the glory, He’s a healer and we are all doing well! Pastor Tanya Coles

The Word of God tells us that we got the power! However, many believers do not operate with the power of God. How many times have we fallen victims to our circumstances? How many times have we let the massive nature of our mountains deter us from our intended goals? But we have the power! We have the power to overcome! We have the power to move those mountains!

So how do we tap into this power? Consider this quote: Spiritual authority is rooted in the knowledge of God. Tony Evans

We have the power because we know the Source of our power: God through Jesus Christ! The intimacy with our Lord will fuel us. The relationship with God cements our knowledge of His promises helps us remember that we have authority of what He accomplished through Jesus Christ. The Word of God exhorts believers to be knowledgeable of the Lord, our God:

Our good, good Father knows that He is our Source! Not only for health and wealth, but He is the Source of the power that lives within us! We have a Father who did not leave us alone and without resources to overcome, quite the contrary! He gave us the tool to be like Him, that is Jesus and the Holy Spirit!

You have the power! You have the authority! You are an overcomer! How? By knowing the Lord, by loving the Lord, and by growing in Him! Our power comes from intimacy with our Creator!

When we grow, we able to go! Scream at the top of your lungs: “I got the power through God to overcome!” Now go forth and climb that mountain, you can do it, friend! The Lord gave YOU the power through Jesus Christ!

The Mission…

Most professions have a mission statement. Doctors have the Hippocratic Oath. Police officers are sworn to protect and serve. Each branch of the military have their own mission statement. Every position within the organizations has been created to serve the mission of the agency. Think about your job or career? It is in line to serve the mission of that organization, but does it serve YOUR mission?

No matter your profession, your lives have a purpose. We have been created for a mission. What is your mission statement? Is everything in your life crafted around your mission statement? The beauty of the body of Christ is that while our operations may vary, our mission is same: to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And why do we minister? It’s found here:

Each our ministries are beautiful and unique but all exist to elevate Christ and to submit to the Lord our God. Your blog can disciple. Your artwork can disciple. Your nonprofit can disciple. Your hobbies, your integrity, and the way you care for your family can disciple.

Everything in our lives must draw us and others to Christ. Your self-care gives you the energy you need to illuminate Christ. The food you eat serves as fuel so that you can continue to do the work of the Lord-so that you can make disciples. The clothes you wear can disciple as well.

The mission cannot be forsaken and we must be vigilant about the mission. We must evaluate and dispose of anything that does not represent the mission of Jesus Christ in our lives. We must ask the Lord to help stay true to our assignment in Him.

So, my friend, what’s your mission statement?

What do you see when you think about a Preacher? Someone holier than thou? A man? Someone articulate? Maybe educated? Perhaps they are only a preacher if they are behind a pulpit or in a church?

And maybe the image we visualize isn’t completely off track. However, we must broaden our vision of a Preacher. We must expand our mind about who a preacher may be. Why, you say? Because YOU are a preacher!

Yep, you.

Let’s look to the Word:

This charge isn’t just for a man. There is a young woman who needs to hear a Word. This isn’t just for someone who is articulate, remember Moses? This isn’t for the educated, the Lord used children to minister, remember Jeremiah?

You, my friend, are a preacher. You don’t need to be a theologian to tell the Good News. You don’t need to be perfect, that’s only reserved for Jesus. You don’t need a crowd, there is someone who needs to hear YOU.

Do not be intimidated by those who may appear to be smarter or more charismatic. Don’t be concerned with those who appear to be perfect. Don’t be nervous about how you may sound. Do you love the Lord? Do you belong to Christ? Then you have all you need to give the Good News!

2 Timothy 4:2 gives it to us plainly, preach the Word, period! You preach with your lips and lifestyle. You preach with your kindness and joy. You preach with the love you show others. You preach when you tell about how the Lord has been good to you. You preach when you serve and serve well. Your preach with your testimony. You preach when you blog unto the Lord.

So preach, Preacher! The world needs to hear the Good News. Preach the Word, my friend!

They that wait…

Food typically taste better when it is heated in the oven. The flavor is preserved. There aren’t those pesky hotspots. The food is crisp. The heat is evenly distributed. But it is the waiting. Ah, the waiting. Our microwave generation selves are not really great fans of waiting. Ah, but the fruit that is present in the waiting is priceless.

And waiting in the Lord? Nothing compares! You may be able to get it done quicker and faster, but the Lord is able to do it RIGHT! Not only does He do it better, there are a few benefits for they that wait on the Lord, scripture tells us so:

They that wait are renewed. They that wait will run and not get weary. They that wait will walk and not get faint. They that wait are able to see the beauty of the Lord. Their patience is strengthened. Their hearts are purified. Their focus is laser sharp.

Will we join those that wait? Will we separate ourselves from the microwave generation and join the slow cooker crowd? Will we wait for the hand of the Lord to show itself? Will we be the ones who trust in the heart of God when we can’t see His hand?

In this seasons of New Year goals and resolutions, wait on the Lord for that weight loss as you strive for a healthier lifestyle. Wait on the Lord as He restores your finances as you budget and save. Wait on the Lord to reveal Himself as you seek Him through intentional fasting and prayer. Don’t give up! Just wait…

They that wait are empowered, encouraged, and emboldened to run on!

The Issues of Life…

The woman with the issue of blood ran to Jesus because of her issue. She knew that Jesus could solve her issue. She pressed her way through the crowd to touch the hem of His garment and she was made whole:

When she left Jesus, her issue stayed at His feet.

Aside from Jesus, the woman with the issue of blood should be role model. When she had a problem, she didn’t run to her girlfriends, she didn’t run to her mama, or her daddy-she went to the only One who could solve her problem!

Let’s be committed to run to Jesus for our issues and leave them at His feet! This is not saying that we shouldn’t attend the doctor or that we don’t pursue wise counsel. However, if we start with Jesus-He will point us in the right direction! When we start at Jesus, He will become bigger than the issue. The woman crawled through the crowd-don’t miss the lesson here! It was an active demonstration of the appropriate position of our issues and problems-at the feet of Jesus!

It’s New Year Eve. Before the watch night service, before the party, before the dinner party with our family and friends, make your way to the feet of Jesus with your 2020 issues. Be determined not to enter into 2021 with those same annoyances. Minimize those problems and issues, they belong at the feet of Jesus.

Let’s walk into 2021 set free and made whole because we chose to trust in the Lord. Let’s be committed to enter into 2021 well!

Happy New Year from Sisters Helping Sisters!

Hide and Seek…

What a fun game! When the seeker hits 10, they are coming to find you. It is the goal to find all those whom are hiding and the true winner of the game is the one who cannot be found. How well are you able to hide? That is the mission of the one hiding. While we are hiding, our ears are more attuned to who is coming. While hiding, we are more alert and watchful so that we are not caught.

In this world that is full of attention seekers, we may struggle to see the benefits of being unseen. We may wonder why we aren’t seen. We may feel like we are missing out. We feel like no one cares for us, so far from the truth! Sometimes God hides us for our protection. Sometimes we are hidden for developing purpose. Sometimes He hides us, so that we can seek Him.

And let’s be clear: This is true in being hidden in Christ, not hiding FROM God! We are not talking about Adam and Eve being ashamed of their nakedness in Genesis 3 and hiding from God in the garden. As believers in the Lord’s sovereignty, we should want to be hidden in God through Jesus Christ!

Think about it, hiding heightens your hearing and strengthen your vision. In Christ, we hide so that we seek Him out the more. We hide so that we can hear His songs. We hide so we can seek. Being hidden in God helps eliminates the distractions and the noise. Being hidden IN God is all about us surrendering to His will and His way. Being hidden in God through Jesus Christ gives Him the room to increase while we decrease. Being hidden in God draws others nearer to Him.

Let’s be intentional about hiding in the Lord so that we can seek Him out.

There are some fights that repeat themselves over and over again-the battle to remain silent when you want to speak, the struggle not to overindulge on that favorite food, the fight to remain steadfast in prayer. And the list goes on.

However, there are some encounters that you won’t have to fight again. Remember when you conquered that fear of speaking in public? Or perhaps that first flight? Maybe you’ve conquered that fear of roller coasters. Whatever it may be, that first fight was the only fight.

There is freedom in realizing that there are some battles you will not have to engage in again. For those whom are married, your season of first dates are over. For those who are mothers and are done have children, those labor pains are done for you!

Let’s go deeper, there are some enemies, there are some things that go bump in the night that you worry about, that you fear-and the Lord has set you free from experiencing those things again. Never again will you have to encounter that one who hurt you. Never again will you want to hurt yourself because you’ve been healed and made whole. Never again will you have to be a slave to a bottle or pills.

The Word tells us so:

Freedom is found in not fearing. Freedom is found in standing firm. Freedom is found in seeing the salvation of the Lord. Your Egyptians are done for! Egypt represented a place of bondage and slavery for the children of Israel. What represents your Egypt? Make it personal and speak that declaration over your life!

For the addiction you see today, you shall never see again if you stand firm, fear not, and see the salvation of the Lord!

For the low self-esteem you see today, you shall never see again if you stand firm, fear not, and see the salvation of the Lord!

The struggle you have with being all that God has called you to be may be visible today, but if you fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord-you shall never have that struggle again!

It’s time to be free, my friend! Leave those “Egyptians” behind and press onward towards the mark which is in Christ Jesus!

Peace and Blessings
