Oh, the Audacity!

Audacity is a willingness to take bold risks. And it’s often used in a negative context: “she had the audacity to…” or “he had the audacity to…”

Being in Christ requires audacity! We have to stand against what we see and what the world says to believe in Someone we do not see. We have to stand on promises that has yet to manifest. We have to trust in the Word of God-oh, the audacity! It is all starts with a mustard seed:

Your willingness to take bold risks start out with a small seed. Faith requires audacity! Do you have the audacity to believe? Do you have the audacity to love that family member everyone has wrote off? Do you have the audacity to go for that goal?

Let them say: She had the audacity to write that book! She had the audacity to ask for healing for an incurable disease! She had the audacity to start that podcast! She had the audacity to preach the Gospel!

Take your mustard seed of faith, our sister, stand the face of fear and declare that YES-You have the audacity! You will love your enemy and do good to those who hate you because God said so, you will intercede for the lost, you will believe that God can and will move mountains and you will trust in the Lord God Almighty!

The Power of Can’t…

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” Henry Ford

Have you ever taught a young child how to do something? When experiencing difficulty, they usually say-“I can’t do it” or “It’s not working”. As the adult, you generally find another strategy to use so that they can gain the concept. You may even simply encourage them to try again. And whether it takes once or five more times, they usually get it done.

The usage of “can’t” prohibits us. Saying that we cannot do something limits us. Every variation of cannot limits us and if we think about it, we limit the movement of God. Instead of saying, “I can’t give it up” or “I don’t have what it takes to accomplish this task”, we must switch our language to focusing on what God can do. The moment “can’t” leaves your lips, it manifests! There is life and death in the power of the tongue.

Let’s remove those limitations, let’s take the limits off! May we diminish the power of the “can’t”! May we decrease it’s power and increase the power of the Lord in our lives! The Lord can and will do that which is according to His will and His way! Let’s take our eyes off the “can’t” and put it on the “can” of the Lord! What can God do? He can do the impossible:

The moment “can’t” tries to leave your lips, submit that thought immediately to the Lord. You can lead that business. You can start that company. You can become debt free. You can be healed and made whole. This isn’t about prosperity gospel, this is about acknowledging and submitting to the power of the Lord!

Destroy the power of “can’t” and allow what the Lord can do in you and through you be made manifest in your life!

Will You Rejoice?

Habakkuk chose to rejoice. The prophet rejoiced even though:

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls…” Habakkuk‬ ‭3:17‬

The prophet didn’t focus on the drought or the barrenness of the land. The prophet focused on the Lord and His goodness. The prophet chose not to focus on what’s in the Lord’s hand but what’s in His heart.

Will we rejoice? Will we rejoice when the cupboards are bare? Will we rejoice when family drama seems to be intensifying? Will we rejoice when that door closes? Habakkuk was knowledgeable of the Lord His God and His capability to restore. The prophet knew that His Father was the Creator of the Universe. He knew that the promises of the Lord stand the test of time and complexity of our situations.

Rejoice regardless dear sisters! Rejoice in the Lord in the midst of the pandemic! Take joy in the Lord and regardless of your circumstances! Have plenty? Rejoice! Have little? Rejoice! Need answers? Take comfort in the God of your salvation! It’s not about what we see, it’s about what He said-Rejoice in the Lord, always!

Will we rejoice?

Progress…

Not perfection.

Every step you take matters. Every move you make gets you one step closer. Every step is progress.

Press on, sister! You will accomplish that goal! Progress is the goal! Every hair does not have to be perfectly in place. Every step does not have to be elegant. You may have to sweat a little. There may be tears. The mascara may run and the lipstick may get smeared but progress should be the goal, never perfection.

You are still graceful. You are still beautiful. Every stumble is an opportunity to get back up again. Every fall, every weakness reminds us to depend on the Savior. No matter how hard we try, we won’t reach perfection because it’s already been achieved! Our Savior is the perfect model. He is the perfect person and nothing compares to Him.

Keep on walking, you are making progress! Press on towards that mark!

Instead of trying to reach some false perception of perfection, may this be our heart and our goal:

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭3:14‬

The Time Is Now!

The time is now! No more waiting, no more “I’ll do it when…”-now is the time for the launch!

We are all about waiting for the perfect time, the perfect moment. I have you ever heard yourself saying, “it’s not the right time”, and you wait-and you wait a little longer-and before you know it-it never happens?

Our sister, it is time for you to move. Get that degree, start the business, preach the Word, set that routine! You can do it, you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you! In Christ you have all you need to accomplish that goal! It starts with one step. It starts by opening that notebook and mapping out that business plan. It starts with putting that $5 into that savings account. It start with movement and just a little faith.

Your adversary wants you to say that it’s not the right time. He wants you to wait so that he can plant a seed of distraction, a seed of delay-he wants you to wait and get even more burdened down with cares that push you away from your purpose. The devil knows that when you get started, he can no longer stop you! He knows that when you getting moving, the Lord is already crafting out the vision. Don’t fret overcomer! Satan and his schemes will be destroyed and defeated-hallelujah! Know that the time is now!

You don’t have to wait for God’s favor, you have it now! Now is the day of salvation! Now is the acceptable and favorable time.

It all starts with us and our sisters, the time is now!

Kept by the King…

Dear sister, don’t you know that you are kept by the King? This world will tell you that you are alone, forgotten, and neglected-do not fall for Satan and his host of lies. You are in the hands of the King!

We aren’t talking about some artificial government official. Our King does not bow to this world and it’s ways. Our King sits high above and on a throne-not a man made one but a heavenly throne. The King who keeps us-the King who keeps you-is above all of these earthly things. We must wrap ourselves in this truth:

His protection is guaranteed. We do not have to be fearful of this world, our King keeps us. His provision is assured. We do not have to be concerned about how we will received what we need. His presence is cemented, He promises to never leave nor forsake us.

We are kept by the King! Let this truth mark your identity and existence. You don’t have to pretend to be someone you are not. You do not have to prove you are worthy. You do not have to compete with anyone else, the King is keeping you!

Through all of your trials and obstacles, you are in the Father’s hand! Hold your head up, woman of God-the Father keeps you! You are in His right hand! You have not been abandoned, you have not been left alone-you have a King who is keeping you and blessing you beyond all measure.

Dear sister, you are kept by the King.

Counting the Cost…

Ever been undecided about purchasing an item, wondering to yourself if it is worth the cost? After contemplating, you may say to yourself that it isn’t worth it for a variety of reasons. On the other hand, you may say to yourself that you are going to press forward with the purchase for a number of reasons.

Either way, for some items, we take the time to weigh the cost. Think about the purchase of your home or the purchase of your car-you researched, you consulted with others, you may have even prayed about it-then you decided.

When we decide to follow Christ, we must weigh the cost. Oh, make no mistake about it-He is absolutely worth it all! However, following Christ comes with specific responsibilities. We cannot be surprised when we have to lose some things in the process of choosing Christ:

That job may have to go. That boyfriend may have to go. Those friendships may have to end. You may be unable to frequent those same places. You may have to turn off certain songs and movies.

And when we don’t follow Christ, the cost is too great to bear! The Word tells us so:

This is beyond salvation. Salvation is important for everybody, no doubt about that! Along with salvation, we must be doing the work of the Lord. We become saved because we commit our lives to Him. We cannot serve Christ half-heartedly, we must give Him our whole lives.

Consider the cost of walking your own way, doing your own thing-the cost is too great to bear! What if you gain all the world’s riches but die spiritually in the process? What if you serve on every church committee but fail to do the ONE thing God told you to do? What if all the relationships you are holding on to kills you slowly? We must count the cost!

Counting the cost helps us understand the great profit that comes with living fully and completely for Christ: We gain Him! We are able to call on the Lord! We are able to cry out, Abba, Father! And we get to spend eternity with our Lord.

Advancing The Gospel…

Your hard work is not in vain. The hard work you are putting in will produce that degree, will start that business, and will help you get healthy. Your hard work is cementing a future, the work is achieving a goal, and your work is producing change.

Work produces work. We have to ask ourselves if the work we are doing matters, for the Kingdom. Yes, working out will make us healthy-but does it matter in the course of eternity? Will the degree we receive position the generations coming behind us? Will the new business further the Gospel?

What you do, what has happened to you, must be viewed the lens of the Gospel. How does your story-the hard work, the victories, and the tragedies-affect the advancement of the Gospel? Let’s look to the Word for direction:

Will we make this declaration? The victories, the turmoil-will we declare that what has happened to us has served to advance the Gospel? Believers must see their life’s story through the lens of the Gospel! You and your degrees and trauma, your powerful and murky testimony, can be used to tell the world about Christ! This is the design of the Gospel, to use those who have been called to tell the world about Christ, with their light and life, to tell all who will listen, how they have overcome! All of who we are can advance the Gospel.

Jesus sat at the well with a woman who had 5 husbands and used her position and story to tell the world that the Messiah had come! He used a Samaritan who was with a man who wasn’t her husband, how good is the Father! Please don’t think that your story isn’t worthy enough to be a tool to point the world to our Savior.

We know you’ve been through, we know that you’ve accomplished much and we know that you’ve overcome so many trials-your beautiful and messy and complicated story can be used to advance the Gospel!

Peace and Blessings

Testify!

At times when a person is on trial, their lawyer may call on a character witness. This character witness gives a testimony about how much of a good person the individual may be. They speak about their good works and they may also give stories about their good deeds. A great character witness can sway the jury or public opinion about the matter or issue.

A character witness provides a solid testimony. Believers are character witnesses for Christ. Our testimony have the power to encourage hurting hearts. Our testimony has the power to plant a seed that will grow someone up in Christ. Our testimony can destroy the works of the devil!

Friend, it is your testimony that proclaims the amazing work of Jesus Christ! Your testimony is living, breathing and active proof that the blood still works! The saints of old are etched into the Bible for a reason but please don’t forsake your powerful story! Your story matters too!

Our lives, once redeemed by the Lord, points towards His salvation, His goodness, and His greatness. Our lives tell of redemption and restoration. Our stories proclaim that what’s lost can be found, that we may have been blind at one time-but now we see!

So go on sister, testify! Tell the world what the Lord has done for you!

May this be our proclamation!
