The Power of Repetition…

Having a rough day? Needing a reminder? How about clinging to this powerful Word?

When the enemy tries to tell you otherwise, whisper: “Lord, You are good and you do good…”

When you are reminded of past trauma, whisper: “Lord, You are good and you do good.”

When you receive disappointing news, cry out: “Lord, You are good and you do good.”

When that door closes, write: “Lord, You are good and you do good.”

When the one you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with, shout: “Lord, You are good and you do good.”

As you start to repeat that simple line, Heaven will respond, Angels will be dispatch, and the Lord will smell your sweet fragrant of praise. As you declare that power over your life, you will see the good that you are declaring. As you shower that scripture, your strength is renewed!

There is power in repeating the truth of God’s Word! It’s not about shouting it on street corners, it’s about whispering it with tear-filled eyes. It’s about speaking it when you aren’t seeing good. It’s about crying out about the Lord’s goodness when you are discouraged and distracted.

Find yourselves declaring: “Lord, You are good and you do good.”

They that wait…

Food typically taste better when it is heated in the oven. The flavor is preserved. There aren’t those pesky hotspots. The food is crisp. The heat is evenly distributed. But it is the waiting. Ah, the waiting. Our microwave generation selves are not really great fans of waiting. Ah, but the fruit that is present in the waiting is priceless.

And waiting in the Lord? Nothing compares! You may be able to get it done quicker and faster, but the Lord is able to do it RIGHT! Not only does He do it better, there are a few benefits for they that wait on the Lord, scripture tells us so:

They that wait are renewed. They that wait will run and not get weary. They that wait will walk and not get faint. They that wait are able to see the beauty of the Lord. Their patience is strengthened. Their hearts are purified. Their focus is laser sharp.

Will we join those that wait? Will we separate ourselves from the microwave generation and join the slow cooker crowd? Will we wait for the hand of the Lord to show itself? Will we be the ones who trust in the heart of God when we can’t see His hand?

In this seasons of New Year goals and resolutions, wait on the Lord for that weight loss as you strive for a healthier lifestyle. Wait on the Lord as He restores your finances as you budget and save. Wait on the Lord to reveal Himself as you seek Him through intentional fasting and prayer. Don’t give up! Just wait…

They that wait are empowered, encouraged, and emboldened to run on!

Live!

Are you existing or are you living? We may have heard that one before or maybe we have even said it to someone. Folks may call it a cliche, but it doesn’t change the validity of the question.

We are all existing-if you are breathing and functioning, your existence cannot be denied. However, what may be questionable is if one is living. Are you taking the time to smell the flowers? Are you laughing more than you crying? Are you taking the time to enjoy the present?

Existing versus living. Which one are you? We can be thankful that life is available to all of us! There may be areas of our life that is dead and others that may be living. Think about your professional life-are you just going to work or working towards a career? Think about your prayer life-is it based on religion or relationship?

All of our lives, if we look closer enough, have some dry areas. Let’s look to the Word:

Can your dry areas be revive? Are you committed to existing or living? Scream to those dry bones to live! Lean on the Word of God, that Living Water, to refresh those dry areas. Revive your career. Revive your prayer life. Live! It is time to truly live out life in abundance!

Living is more than being attentive to numbers on a scale or numbers associated with a bank account. Can these dry bones live? Yes, they can! We are children of God-who specializes in the impossible!

Your marriage can live! Your career can live! Your ministry can live! You can live! No matter what you’ve been through, live out life, woman of God!

Use the power of God through Jesus Christ to breath life into those dead areas. Watch Him resurrect that which everyone else called dead!

Trust God and live!

Welcome…

Welcome is a greeting that we often extend to those who enter into our space. We ensure that our space is presentable and inviting. We smile and we exude warmth and kindness as we greet those who come into our space. There tends to be a level of excitement when we get to invite someone into our home or our place.

This level of excitement should be extended to the Lord as we invite Him in. The beauty of the Lord is that He doesn’t require the finest linen. The Lord doesn’t require us to have the best food, the cleanest home, and the best decor. He simply requires a clean heart and a renewed spirit:

Do you long to welcome the Lord? This is how we welcome the Lord into our presence! We humble ourselves and kneel before Him. We seek His face above all us. We don’t have to be perfect to be perfected. As we kneel before Him and seek His face, we will be cleaned and made whole. A willing spirit welcomes the Lord.

As we pray, as we fast, as we read the Word of God-we invite the Lord into our space. As we extend forgiveness and show love, the Lord is invited into our hearts. Our lives and demeanor expresses our desire to be filled and be led by the Holy Spirit. We create a welcoming environment for the Lord with repentance and joy. Praise and thanksgiving creates an sweet smelling aroma for the Lord to let Him know that we desire Him!

May our lives bow before the Father and let Him know that He is welcomed here!

A (re)New(ed) Thing…

New life exists in Christ! The day you become saved, it’s the beginning of new life, but it is not the end! Once you become saved, you are starting anew but there is more to come!

Coming to Christ is only the beginning! As a follower of God through Jesus Christ, you are being transformed and renewed! Friend, you won’t remain the same. The Lord, your God, is refreshing you, reviving you, and revealing something new in you each and every day!

As you seek His face, as you pray, and diligently seek out Him and His Word, you making room and developing ground for something new to happen in You! His Word renews! Rejoice, my sister, in your newness and in your renewal! In Christ, your children, your spiritual walk, and your relationship with Christ becomes renewed. Your marriage will experience a refreshing. Your ministry becomes a new thing! He is birthing a new thing in your life! Our Father, the Creator, always produces life.

There is nothing stagnant nor stale about our relationship with God. If it is, that means it is time for some prayer and fasting because we are in need of a renewal. As we intentionally sit as His feet, all things become new and renewed. Revelation tends to birth something new and as we are refreshed, we are being renewed.

We here at Sisters Helping Sisters are doing a new thing! We are excited to post a devotional Mondays through Thursdays until the Lord says otherwise. We pray that it helps you and draws you closer to the Savior.

Behold, our sister, for the Lord is doing a new thing, not only for us but for you! The pressing, the pushing and the pruning will produce new wine in you!

Restoration.

“the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition.”

Renewal. Revival. Reestablishment.

We here at Sisters Helping Sisters don’t know what you’ve lost, what led you astray from that calling, mission, goal, or purpose. But what we do know is that restoration is in God’s plan for your life, for your relationships, for your ministry. Restoration. Renewal. Revival. can all define you and shape you on this last day of 2019 and for the coming year, God’s willing.

It is our prayer that God restores what you’ve lost. It is our prayer that He gently reminds you and revives you to be all that He’s called you to be. As you begin to wonder what’s in store for 2020, may He reestablish and enlarge your territory. May He blow your mind beyond measure, starting today and right now! May He restore your belief in His promises and His Word. May He restore your faith in His ability to work a miracle in your life.

And may this truth manifest for you:

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.” Joel 2:25-26

Happy New Year!
