The Lifestyle…

“…Even so, Come, Lord Jesus” Revelation 22:20. John’s declaration to the Lord is truly a lifestyle.

John’s simple words proved that he was ready to be with the Lord. As the Lord shared that He is “coming quickly”, the response wasn’t “hold up Lord, not yet.” At times, our lives shouts that same response…

John lived a life that echoed the coming of the Lord. He was sent to the island of Patmos to essentially die alone. This prove that he didn’t forsake the Lord, he did not deny the Lord’s authority, and he loved Him even to the point of death. John’s position expressed that he patiently awaited the Lord’s return. He could have deny the Lord and been saved but he took his stance and said: Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus just isn’t a call-it’s a way of life! Let’s be found working, loving, and seeking the Lord! No one is looking to be outcasted to an island to die alone but John’s willingness proved that he was ready to be with the Lord.

Are we? Are we ready to be with the Lord-resting with Him and worshipping Him for eternity? Are we ready for Jesus to come back? Do we live a life that exclaims-Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Repentance, obedience, service, sacrifice, love, forgiveness: all shout, “Come Lord Jesus!”

And while we wait, may we hold on to our blessed hope:

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

His Perfect Plan…

Who else gets excited when they see this verse:

Come on now?! We know that scripture causes a good ole Holy Ghost shout! As it should! In a world filled with uncertainty, it’s good to know that the very Creator of the Universe has it all together! His plan is absolute perfection…

The promotion, the kids, the husband, the house-all apart of His perfect plan! Hallelujah! We can rejoice at the thought of His perfect plan for our lives!

Let’s also consider verse 10, when He speaks about spending 70 years in Babylon. Let’s consider verse 14 where He speaks about restoring and returning from exile. Those words cannot be overlooked…

Maybe Babylon is the job that laid you off and 70 years is a representation of the timeframe between jobs. Perhaps restoration involves recovering from a miscarriage. Perhaps the gathering means at one point you were lost. Could the silence you hear when you pray be apart of His perfect plan? Could the rejection from that “dream” job be apart of His perfect plan? Could that failed relationship be apart of His perfect plan?

Yes, yes, and yes. We cannot praise Him for the manifestation of the promise and curse Him for the presence of pain. Perfection, for the children of Israel, involved exile, loss, and destruction as well as promises, protection, and guidance. Why? Because it helped them return to their First Love. It led them to the Eternal Savior and not a temporary one.

That’s His perfect plan-for us to return to Him-whatever it takes!

So yes-His perfect plan involved the loss of a love and the love of your life. It involved your demotion and promotion. It involved the season of prosperity and the season of lack. His perfect plan involved the pain of the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Perfection is not the presence of good, it is seeking and desiring the presence of God.

The Sowing…

Let’s start by saying: there is NOTHING too hard for God, Amen? Amen!

But sowing is not easy work. It takes concentration, focus, and intentionality. Sowing often yields a beautiful creation-when completed with skill and love. This is how the Father worked when He created us-when He created you! He was intentional, He was careful, and He was focused. It says so in the Word:

You as the finished product is just as important as the time and tenderness the Father provides to you as He created you. When sowing, if one detours, if one uses threads that don’t match-it disrupts the creation, the finished product. One doesn’t sow with their eyes close, they are careful and driven.

You, beautiful sister, deserve attention, care, and focus. The Father deemed it so! This is vital to our identity as children of God. The world wants to tell us that our very creation is a “random assignment”. Oh no sister! The Father knew full on well who we were going to be!

He carefully designed the beautiful shape of our faces, our lovely hair, and our unique skin color. He knew every line of our fingerprint, the curve of our fingers, and the careful placement of the freckles on our skin. His intentional design of our ears and nose was not by chance but on purpose.

Sisters, know that the Father knitting you in your mothers womb, matter just as much as His finished product. There is nothing accidental or random about you-we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Our pain, His plan…

Can you imagine the Lord having anything to do with our pain? The lame, the blind, the ongoing issue with blood-all can be used to display the glory of God. Imagine that! Let’s see what the Lord has to say about it:

Let’s start here: suffering is a part of being in this world. Our aches and pains are par for the course. Also, some of our issues are straight consequences of our sin. As children of God, we are absolutely forgiven-hallelujah!-but there are still natural consequences to our sinful actions.

But this does not negate the absolute fact that we can still see the manifestations of God’s amazing work in our lives! The man with the issue of blindness became the very indication that Jesus was here and present. His healing is the Lord’s amazing handiwork! His recovery likely brought someone else to Christ.

Our pains serve as an opportunity to testify about the goodness of God. Listen, we are not oblivious to the fact that pain is tough and troubling, but fret not-the Master has a plan for your pain.

Pain will not win. Pain is not the end. Pain has been defeated, Amen?! Our troubles and trials is an opportunity for Christ to be magnified and glorified. His plan for our life may involve pain-but pain is not our purpose nor it is our final promise!

Our pain is a part of His plan-His plan to show the world that He is Lord, His plan to demonstrate to us that we are more than a conqueror, His plan to show us that we are overcomer, and His plan to prove that we are victorious!

Word of God: Authority

Scriptures have been used to justify slavery, to justify belittling women, and used to condemn others. We wonder how the Lord feels about that? Did we even seek Him out? His Word is too powerful to be misused!

We can only imagine that the Lord is not pleased when His Word is mishandled. He knows that the Word is authority and we should know as well. It will do what He has commanded it to do. He is not out to see others enslaved, women demeaned, or people condemned. His Word is life and it has been used improperly.

Let’s remember that His Word is authority, used to cement the the rule and reign of God Almighty.

His Word is firm. His Word is settled. His Word is cemented. His Word is power. His Word is authority. What did God say about the matter? If He said it, it is so. We are to stand on His authority and His alone.

Our situations must bow to the authority of God’s Word. Our enemies are defeated by the authority of God’s Word. Our purposes and plans are found in God’s Word. It is His promises that define our lives. Before we research the world’s perspective, did we seek out the Father’s command?

The Lord’s Words are not empty, meaningless mumblings-they are life shaping, life forming, and life giving. God’s Word is authority.

Location: At Work…

When someone attempts to contact us between the hours of 9am to 5pm, most of us would say that we are at work-and for the over nighters, they are usually preparing for work.

Whether you are self-employed or work for an organization, work requires so much of our time. Work is exhausting. Work is time consuming. Work is demanding. But work is what we must do.

We can view it from the natural perspective, right? Work provides for our families. Work helps us operate in our purpose. And although it is demanding, work is fulfilling. Work is also required in the supernatural. Let’s look to the Word:

Jesus’s command is for us to work until He comes. While one can interpret this from a natural perspective, we must know that the Savior means that we are to do His business until He returns. Work is demanding, but necessary. Work is time consuming, but it’s our appropriate position. People are dying without knowing Christ because the people of God are not doing their job by planting and watering. It’s time to get to work!

As a blood washed, born again believer-the charge has been given: Occupy until Jesus returns. We cannot afford to retire from ministry, it’s our service! Preaching the Word of God through Jesus Christ is our lifelong service.

We preach when we give of ourselves. We preach when we encourage someone with the Word of God. We minister by caring for our families. We work as we testify about the goodness of Christ. We preach by living out the Word of God. We work by exuding joy, choosing patience, and loving our enemies. We are working when we are fasting and praying. We are working when we are declaring and decreeing the promises of God.

We should always be at work, not at our secular place of employment but doing our Father’s business. Whether it’s 5pm or 5am, when someone is looking for us, we must be at work.

Re-focus.

We pray that you will re-focus. Instead seeing how numerous and massive your problems are, you will see the wonder of the Father’s works in your life. May you see how amazing and strategic the Father is as He orders your steps according to His Word. May you whisper the promises of the King over yourself as the lies of the world try to envelope you.

Our sister, may you grasp just how wide, how deep, and how long the Father’s love is for you! It’s time to re-focus on the Refiner. It’s time to put your eyes on Perfect Peace. It is time to focus on the Author and Finisher of your amazing life’s story.

Re-focus and see just how wonderfully the Father is working in your life.

Your Way or Yahweh?

Have you ever tried to get to a destination off of memory? You rely on landmarks, you jog your memory, and you end up lost. Eventually, you find yourself turning on Google Maps and then you get re-routed and back on track.

While this scenario is applicable for traveling to a physical destination, this is also true for a spiritual destination. When trying to figure out the best way to go, we will talk to our best friend, seek out a self-help book, and even talk to our Mama. And while our friends and family may have the best intentions, they should not be our first resource. We have to surrender the way we think we should go, we should give up trying to go our way and try Yahweh.

Jesus, Jehovah, Yahweh, Immanuel-No matter what name we call Him-He is the way, the truth, and the life! We have to surrender our way to Him! We must give up the path we think we know for the path He created for us. His way will lead us in the way everlasting. His way will lead us right to Him! The Lord our God has not left us alone to figure this road called life out, His Word is our guide. The Holy Spirit has been sent to lead us.

As we consider our way or Yahweh, let’s look to the Word for direction:

Hide and Seek

(Another sister in Christ wrote an post about hiding and seeking-I had to mention it, the Holy Spirit moves in mighty ways! Check her post out here: Hide and Seek)

———————————————————————–

Maybe you are hiding from a major conflict…

Maybe you are hiding from God’s mission for your life…

Maybe you are hiding from hurt and pain…

Maybe you are hiding because someone is pursuing you…

Sister, it is time to stop hiding! It is time for you to come out from that spot behind that rock, behind that tree-it is time for you to seek the Lord and come forward! The Lord is waiting for you to stop running. He is waiting for you to stop using that job, those vain things, and that relationship to block yourself from being all that the Lord has created you to be!

The time for hiding is over. Now it is time to seek the Lord. Pursue Him relentlessly. Be after His heart. Strive for His Will. Seek His face. Seek His purpose for your life. Seek His plan for your life. Our children and our children’s children need us to come out of hiding. Our souls need us to come our of hiding. Why? So that we can experience abundant life, so that we can be set free of toxicity, so that we can be free.

We may be feeling disenchanted and discouraged. We may be experiencing discontentment so we run to our secret hiding place. We run to a place where we can wear masks and be someone we are not. It is time to come forth and live.

Seek the Lord and live.

Oh, the Audacity!

Audacity is a willingness to take bold risks. And it’s often used in a negative context: “she had the audacity to…” or “he had the audacity to…”

Being in Christ requires audacity! We have to stand against what we see and what the world says to believe in Someone we do not see. We have to stand on promises that has yet to manifest. We have to trust in the Word of God-oh, the audacity! It is all starts with a mustard seed:

Your willingness to take bold risks start out with a small seed. Faith requires audacity! Do you have the audacity to believe? Do you have the audacity to love that family member everyone has wrote off? Do you have the audacity to go for that goal?

Let them say: She had the audacity to write that book! She had the audacity to ask for healing for an incurable disease! She had the audacity to start that podcast! She had the audacity to preach the Gospel!

Take your mustard seed of faith, our sister, stand the face of fear and declare that YES-You have the audacity! You will love your enemy and do good to those who hate you because God said so, you will intercede for the lost, you will believe that God can and will move mountains and you will trust in the Lord God Almighty!
