The Sound…

What are we listening to? What sound are we allowing to penetrate our spirit? What are we allowing to speak to our spirit?

These questions are explored in “From Worn to Well” first session of M.E. Time! This series is designed to help us pause for the cause, reflect on the goodness of the Lord, and to apply the Word of God to our lives.

To hear the message in its entirety, you can listen here: M.E. Time Moment: The Sound

Achieving mental wellness requires us to pay attention to the sounds that surround us. We must be able to hear the voice of the Father at all time. The noises of this world cannot be greater than the beautiful sound of the Father.

It’s time to ensure that we hear our Father. It’s time to block out the sounds of this world. We must be able to hear the voice of the Father so that we can maintain a sound mind. The state of our mental health determines our ability to know what the Lord is saying to us. He is the One who transforms and renews our mind. He is the One who strengthens our spirit. He is the One who gives us peace.

It’s time examine what sound we allow to impact our mind, body, and spirit. Mighty woman of God, may you be moved, strengthen, and empowered by the sound of the Lord.

Built (Christ) Tough!

Have you ever heard the phrase “Built Ford Tough”? This phrase has typically been subscribed to Ford trucks because…they’re big! They are pretty sturdy and made with steel. Their wheels are big-simply massive.

Traditionally, when people are considered tough, they, too, are described in similar fashion. Think of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He’s massive and for men, he’s probably considered to be the prototype. For women, perhaps it’s someone like Serena Williams-she’s perceived to be a force to be reckoned with.

Supernaturally, however, the Lord does not look at the physical to perceive one’s strength. He doesn’t look at muscles, height, or athletic ability. We should be thankful for that! The Rock and Serena are unique human beings-and so are YOU! When the Lord looks at strength or maturity, let’s consider this verse:

Gentleness will win every time! Let’s strive to be built Christ tough! It’s kindness, patience, and love that demonstrates strength. Think about the world we live in? Do we need another person to yell? No. Do we need another “strong” opinion? Absolutely not. We need gentle responses to wrath. We need soft responses to anger tones. We need love as Satan, author of hate, roams the Earth seeking whom he may devour.

Woman of God, as you engage in this spiritual warfare, be built Christ tough. Be kind. Be gentle. Speak the truth in love. Choose silence. Choose love. Choose to smile instead of frown. Choose to be patient.

Know that the love you show to others, the kindness to show to others, the prayers you pray, the hospitality you show, the choice to be submissive to the Lord and your husband, the care you give to your household-this is what makes you strong! The tears that flow, the joy you show, and the quiet beauty you possess-these are demonstrations of true strength!

Mighty daughter of the King, know that you are built CHRIST tough! And this is stronger than any natural strength you could ever have!

Armored Up: Belt of Truth

Belts are designed to hold up our clothing. Without belts, we would be pretty exposed. In battle, imagine if soldiers were found with loose clothing, they would be exposed, tripped up, and falling all over the place. The level of exposure would get them killed!

The Belt of Truth is also designed up hold us up. Mighty warriors of God, this would be true for us as well. We cannot afford to be exposed, there is an adversary that is seeking whom he may devour.

Without knowing the truth, we would fall for the lies of the enemy. We would be exposed and vulnerable to the strategies and schemes of Satan. We need the truth to keep us focused on the battle ahead and to keep us focused on the Word of God. Without that belt, we would surely perish!

What’s holding you up, woman of God? What’s keeping you grounded and focused? It’s time to put on the Belt of Truth! We are covered by the Word of God! We are kept by His truth! In the world of distorted and false media, the Belt of Truth can hold us up!

As we get dressed for the fight ahead, let’s be sure we have on our belt of truth. We have to study to show ourselves approved, we must pray without ceasing, and we must give thanks in everything!

Mighty woman of God, in this world where people all around us are falling for everything, may we continuously be held and kept by the Belt of Truth.

Press forward, sister, victory awaits!

Armored Up: The Tongue

The tongue is a powerful tool! The Word of God says so:

We’ve all heard that one, right? While the term “cliché” may come to mind, we must remember that the Word of God is LIFE and there is nothing cliché about the Word of God!

The tongue is an important weapon in this spiritual warfare battle that we are constantly engaged in, woman of God!

From the life perspective of the tongue, this is where we can speak life into dead situations. The tongue can bring dead things back to life: your sick loved one, your dead job, your lifeless marriage, your wayward child. Our tongue speaks the life-filled Word of God! Yes, let’s learn how to arm ourselves with life-giving scriptures, encouragement, and positive words. Let’s use our tongues to communicate the promises of God. Command your mornings. Speak healing words over those who are hurting. Declare and decree the truth of the Lord over your family. There is LIFE in the power of the tongue and we must be ready to speak life at all times!

Let’s look at the tongue as a tool of death, we know how words can hurt right? We know that old saying of “sticking and stones breaking our bones but words never hurting” is a complete lie. But mighty woman of God, did you realize that your tongue can be a tool to kill the schemes and strategies of the enemy?! Oh yes, let’s use our tongues to trample all over the agenda of the enemy! Let’s use our tongues to extinguish those fiery darts coming our way! Let’s put to death those lies from Satan’s mouth! Declare and decree that every witch and warlock have no power over you. Use your tongue to kill the desires of the flesh!

Yes, sister, there is life and death in the power of the tongue. It is time to use that tongue to give life and to put to death the demonic agendas that is trying to rule and reign in our lives.

Let us shout the name of Jesus with our tongues and advance forward, the battle is already won!

The Road To Well…

The journey to well is one that is complicated, complex, and rewarding. Wellness is the promise of the King for His children. Remember the story of the woman at the well? She came to the well for natural water and left drinking on the Living Water. She came empty and left full, in so many ways. This woman found healing and purpose at the well.

Please take a few months and read her story: John 4:1-31. Her story is a beautiful example of how wellness is achieved in intimacy with Jesus Christ.

During our monthly podcast, From Worn to Well, we take some take some time to explore her story and share a glimpse into our wellness journey. Check out a snippet here:

You can listen to the full episode here: The Journey to Well…

Wellness is the Father’s desire for His daughters! We must pursue it relentlessly! We must obtain the blessing that the Father has for us!

We must repent, submit, and go and tell what the Lord has done for us! The enemy desires to see us hurt and ashamed, God forbid! We no longer have to live in shame, we no longer have to live in sin, and we no longer have to live in defeat.

As we become well, we can lead others to wellness, let’s run and speak this amazing truth: “Come and meet a man at the well who told me everything I’ve done! He could be the One we’ve been waiting for.” The Passion Translation

Let us be compelled to meet the Lord at the well and watch how we become well!

Peace and Blessings

Armored Up: Shield of Faith

The fiery darts of the enemy are very subtle. The darts, while ablaze, have the tendency to sneak up when we aren’t paying attention. The darts can be shot from the ones that we least expect. The darts can look similar to what we’ve seen before, but their source is much more dangerous, much more brutal, and downright deadly.

This is why, sisters, we must maintain our shield of faith at all times! The enemy exists to steal, kill, and destroy. If he gets our faith, he gets the foundation on which we stand.

The Word of God is living, breathing and active-however, if we fail to believe the Lord, we will find the Word being of no effect in our lives. Oh the Word goes forth and fulfills it’s intended purpose but we will fail to see the hand of God if we are punctured by the fiery darts that comes our way.

Our faith must stand at all times!

Shields up, women of God! We must block the darts of the enemy by standing and believing the Word of God!

The dart of insecurity, the dart of comparison, the dart of low self esteem, the dart of envy may come your way but your faith will destroy the darts before they reach you! Your faith in the Lord, your God, is much more powerful than the demonic tactics of the enemy. Your shield of faith is stronger than anything that comes your way!

We block those darts with our faith, with the promises of God, with fasting, with prayer, and with our love for the Father! Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection gave us access to this amazing tool of warfare. We will not fail with the Lord’s armor!

Sister, your adversary may be lurking, seeking who he may devour but with our shield of faith and the Lord on our side-WE WIN!

Peace and Blessings

Armored Up Wednesdays: Rest

‘Tis the season, right? This season is usually full of shopping, family, cleaning, and yummy food-rarely does rest come into the equation. Even though many job places are intentional about giving employees time off, school shuts down, and many operations cease during this time-rest is rarely on the agenda.

Mighty warrior, the rest of the world may be hustling and bustling during this time but we cannot afford to do so. Everything we do, must be from a place of rest. The enemy wants to see us weary and worn! When wearied, we become reckless with our words, our quiet time disappears, and we become less compassionate.

Our victory is obtained through resting in our Savior, the One who won the battle for us. Being rested means abiding in the risen Savior. Resting is choosing to focus on Him instead of the newest and shiniest material possession. Resting in Jesus is less about having the nicest decorations and more about savoring time with loved ones. Rest is functioning from love instead of obligation.

Being well-rested is a powerful tool in our spiritual warfare! We are able to hear the Lord better, able to focus more, and we are able to operate from a place of wisdom.

We talk about rest on our newest podcast! Check out a snippet here:

You can listen to the full message here: https://anchor.fm/fromworntowell/episodes/Tis-the-seasonfor-REST-e1b2d4f

As you enjoy the sights and sounds of the season, let’s commit to focusing on this powerful promise of the Lord: “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.” Matthew‬ ‭11:28-29‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Armor of God: Helmet of Salvation…

Our minds are so vulnerable, this is why we are instructed to put on the helmet of salvation every day. If Satan affects our thinking, he wins! It’s important to know the Word of God and the promises of God to stand firm in the midst of battle.

The helmet of salvation helps us to remember that we belong to the Lord! It helps cement the fact that we are children of God. The helmet protects from the fiery darts and lies of the enemy.

When left unprotected, our mind becomes susceptible to faulty thinking. We must remember that the warfare is real and Satan’s schemes are subtle. It starts with the comparisons we make when we see someone who we think is prettier, smarter, more financially stable or a better mom, wife, etc. The Word of God warns against this form of attack:

So what does this helmet look like? It’s our salvation story, it’s our testimony about the goodness of the Lord, and it’s our attentiveness to the Word of God. It’s the power we tap into when we make our thoughts bow to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

So we stay covered by reading the Word. We remain constant in prayer We put on the helmet of salvation when we believe the Lord over the world. We guard our ear gates and eye gates. We renew our minds daily. We remember that we are victorious through Christ Jesus. We focus on being more than conquerors. We operate from a position of thankfulness.

Keep your helmets on sisters-the battle is raging on but we have already won!

The Armor of God: Praise

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. The fight isn’t against flesh and blood. Therefore, it makes sense that the armor of God isn’t crafted by human hands. So today, let’s consider the power of our praise! Praise is truly a weapon!

Praise is often considered to be synonymous with music. It’s so much more! Our praise doesn’t come from Maverick City Music or Fred Hammond, it comes from the fruit of our lips and our lips alone! It’s the words you speak, the tears that run down your cheek, and the groan and moan before the Lord. Let’s consider the Word:

Go back and read Joshua 6 and the fall of the wall of Jericho. The people’s faithfulness, obedience and praise caused the wall to fall! Their shout was a weapon! They had access to the manmade tools to cause the wall to fall but their praise was much more powerful!

Is there a wall blocking access to your promised territory? Is there a mountain in your way? Praise your way through! There is power in your praise! Praising the Lord is a great weapon in your arsenal.

The enemy wants you to speak negatively. He’s waiting for you to speak death to your promise-sisters, let’s choose to praise our way through the fight! Let’s choose to rejoice and give thanks unto the Lord for the victory!

It’s time to strap on praise. It’s time to lift our hands and our voices and declare that the Lord is GOOD and that He is worthy to be praised!

Pick up your praise and fight-the Lord, your God, is with you!

Motivation Monday!

Trying to figure out the age old question of “who am I?” can be downright exhausting. We tend to look to our left and to our right to answer that question. But sister, it is time to look up. The Lord of Lords and the King of Kings has already answered that question for us! Firstly, let’s look to the Word:
