A Happy Ending…

Trouble, trials, and turbulence are our portion while here on Earth. Between the violence, the economic woes, and moral issues-troubles have no problem finding us. No matter how much we pray and plead, sorrow is inevitable. That is not the end result, however, as children of the Lord, we have a promise that awaits us at the end of the turbulent road. Christ tells us so, let’s look to the Lord:

The end is that you will overcome because Christ overcame it all! Trouble may be the portion but victory is the promise! Friends, this world is just full of sorrowful stories. Turn on the news, open up the internet-you will find all the troubles and ills of the world there.

But open up your Bible! There you will find the happy ending you dream of-Jesus Christ overcame the world’s ills. The end is that you will overcome too! There is a home in Heaven awaiting those who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Our Savior achievements is our promise! Our happy ending isn’t found in retiring from a job in 30 years, it isn’t found in marrying the love of our life or becoming debt-free, our joy is in Christ alone. Christ is more than our happy ending-He is our joy-filled ending!

Sisters, we cannot let Disney or the latest romantic comedy shape our desired happy endings. There are cute and entertaining but they are not endgame. Victory is better than any movie that Disney can make! The approval of the Father is better than any story we will read! Sisters, we will cry and we will grieve in the world but because of Christ-we will win! Victorious living is our promise!

Accept Christ, and you too, can live happily ever after…

Growing Through…

Are you going through? Or are you growing through? The thing about going through is that the destination is undetermined. You don’t know where you will end up. Growing through, however, leads to a positive outcome. Growth frequently means progress. Growing through results in enlightenment and revelation. Growing through results in a better you.

Growing through leads to a life built on Christ. Growing through leads to you looking like Christ, thinking like Christ, and speaking like Christ. Growing through makes you better, more refined, and wiser.

The issues of life will continue. In this world, we will have trouble-the Lord says so! But know that you are an overcomer! Know that you are more than a conqueror. Sister, you are not going through-wandering aimlessly or without direction, you are GROWING through! There might be tears, frustration, and pain but you are going to be better, stronger, and more determined when this is over. You are growing, cementing your roots in Christ!

So the next time someone asks you what’s going on, how’s everything going, or when you are dealing with a rough circumstance-tell them you are growing through!

Outpouring…

Whatever you are holding on to, whatever burdens you, pour it out to the Father. He cares for you. He is your place of safety and refuge. It’s time to give it all up to Him-the worries and the wonders. He wants it all today, sister.

Pour it out today, it’s time to stop holding it all in. Trust Him with the impossible. Trust Him with the improbable. Trust Him with the deep secrets and the buried pain. Trust Him with the process.

He is your shelter and shield. He is your strength and your safe haven.

Selah.

All of Me…

Sisters, let’s be intentional about giving all of ourselves-the beautiful and the messy parts-to the Lord. This can be a challenging task. Women are taught to be presentable at all times. Women are taught that no one will want them if they are too much: too vulnerable, too emotional, too needy. Now here comes the One who says He loves all of us-our endless tears, the snort that comes with a hearty laugh, and the frustrations that so easily beset us. That can be hard to believe but it is absolutely the truth:

The Lord loves all of you-the parts you were told were unlovable, the Lord can handle it. The “hot mess” that you frequently call yourself is considered the apple of His eye. So if the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings is so in love with you, why do you hold back parts of yourself from Him? Declare today that it shall be no more!

Let us pray with you: Lord, may the beautiful woman of God whom encounters this post declare today that she will surrender all of herself to you. You are the Creator of her very life. You are the author and finisher of her faith. May she reject the lies of the enemy and humbly bow before you, her King, who loves every part of her messy, beautiful, simple, and complex life. In Christ name, Amen.

Lifetime Guarantee…

Some products and associations offer a lifetime guarantee of support and assistance. However, those documents often come with with fine print and exceptions. Companies that promise lifetime guarantees fall every day. The assurances that the world offers are temporary, no matter what the verbiage of a contract may say.

This is one of the many reasons why we have to lean on Christ alone. Being a child of God, also offers a lifetime guarantee:

Friends, we know you’ve encountered this Word many times before, but read it slowly, savor that truth! Don’t just gloss over this lifetime guarantee from the Father. It’s so easy to take it for granted. It’s so easy to fall for the schemes of the enemy.

Sisters, there is no fine print in the Word of God! He will never fail! We will fall, we will stumble, and we will mess up-several times! There is no timeline on the Father’s love. His mercies are new each and every morning. His grace is for a lifetime. His love is guaranteed to His children!

Christ paid for this warranty with His life, this guarantee of His protection and provision, His love and care, and His grace and His promises extends for a lifetime-for all of eternity.

In Christ, there is truly a lifetime guarantee.

The Quiet Place…

The silence can sometimes be deafening. It’s challenging to simply sit in quiet. The whistling of the wind, the creaks of the room, and the noises of nature can be too much to bear at times.

And we humans find ourselves enjoying the distractions and chaos on some level. Think about it: who has music playing while they are working? Who has the television going while you are preparing a meal? Who has the radio or a podcast on while attending to daily tasks?

And these are not bad things at their core, many people have had lightbulbs appear as they listen to a great podcast. Others have specific worship songs that have ministered to their souls. A good show can produce that hearty laugh that’s needed after a long day.

But the quiet place can be transformative, the quiet place can be the very place where you get the energy you need to power through to the next step. Let’s look to the Lord:

In Luke 5, just cleansed a leper. He just finished ministering-so withdrew to pray. He went to that quiet place to refuel. He went to the quiet place to receive their power He needed to move forward. The quiet place is needed and necessary for the people of God.

The quiet place can be scary. The quiet place can be loud. Oh but it is in the quiet place where you develop the mind of Christ. This place is where you get the Holy Spirit power to be an ambassador for Christ. The whistling, the creaks, and the chirps are symphonies used by the Lord to soothe our weary souls. Being with the Father in the quiet place is the sound we need to hear His gentle and wonderful voice.

The Sound…

Mothers, when you are in a room full of children, are you able to recognize the sound of your child’s voice?

Children, are you able to recognize the sound of your parent’s voice in a room full of adults?

Wives, imagine you are in Walmart, are you able to recognize the sound of your husband’s voice as you are on one aisle and he’s on another?

As we build relationships with our families, we recognize their voice-we hear when our names are called, we recognize their laugh, and may even be able to recognize their cry-if they are hurt or are in pain.

And just as we attune our ears to our loved ones, the Father has attuned His ear to us. The Father knows when we are hurting, He knows we were are in pain, and He knows when we are in need. The Lord knows when we are speaking from our heart and when we are speaking from the flesh:

Sister, the Father has heard the sound of your voice and He is coming! Matter of fact, He is already here. The Father knows that you’ve been crying, He knows you’ve been hurting. We are here to tell you that your prayers will be answered!

This is not prosperity gospel or about naming and claiming it, this is about knowing that the Father knows the sound of His child’s voice! This is about the Father knowing that your heart is crying out. This about getting more of our good, good Father and training ourselves to hear our faithful Father’s voice!

If you are wondering if the Lord is speaking, go to His Word. The more you soak yourself in the Word of God, the greater confidence you will gain in learning the Father’s voice. His voice is gentle, His word produces life, and His tone will draw you to Him.

Do you recognize the sound you are hearing? It may be the Father calling!

The Art of Stillness…

Imagine being nervous around bees. It’s hard to stand still. You may find yourself running away, shrieking or swatting them away. Being still is the last thing you want to be. You can substitute bees for whatever creepy, crawly things that frightens you. Or think about when you have company over, most of the time-we aren’t still. We are serving guests, straightening up, and moving around to ensure everyone is comfortable.

There is an art in being still, it requires skill and practice. You have to be calm, cool, and collected. You have to learn how to be fully present. You have to train yourself to simply enjoy the moment and endure the process. Being still can be quite challenging.

If you train yourself to be still around a bee, you will learn that the bee isn’t interested in you at all. If you learn to be still when you have guests over, you can hear the heart of the person in your presence. And if you learn how to be still before the Lord, you will see just how powerful and mighty He truly is.

Stillness requires confidence. You have to train yourself to trust in the Master’s hands and not your own. Being still trains us to learn the heart of God and to hear His voice. If we are still enough, we can experience His hand mending our broken heart back together. Being still increases our faith, softens our heart, and soothes our weary soul.

Be still and know: that He is God, that he is the Lion of Judah, that He is fighting for you, that He loves you, that you can trust Him, and that He is Lord of all.

Just…be…still.

Trouble…

…don’t last always! We all may have hummed this melody time and time again through difficulties. It may even sound a little cliche, but it is absolutely true!

Trouble has a stopping point, eventually things begin to turn themselves around and life gets a little easier, a little less complicated.

Trouble’s stopping point comes when we surrender, when we submit, and when we seek the Lord! He places all things into perspective. He provides a comfort that no one else can give. He is our hope! He has the absolute best track record-His defeat of death, Hell, and the grave is history-making news!

There is no other name under Heaven in which every knee-even trouble’s knew has to bow! We have this assurance in Christ that eventually trouble will fade, the Word says so:

Sin may be present but it is not our portion! Our portion is the forthcoming glory that will be revealed in Christ. Our promise is joy, peace, and power in Christ. Trouble is very present, victory is guaranteed!

Knee deep in trouble? Stand in your authority and tell trouble that it won’t last always!
