They that wait…

Food typically taste better when it is heated in the oven. The flavor is preserved. There aren’t those pesky hotspots. The food is crisp. The heat is evenly distributed. But it is the waiting. Ah, the waiting. Our microwave generation selves are not really great fans of waiting. Ah, but the fruit that is present in the waiting is priceless.

And waiting in the Lord? Nothing compares! You may be able to get it done quicker and faster, but the Lord is able to do it RIGHT! Not only does He do it better, there are a few benefits for they that wait on the Lord, scripture tells us so:

They that wait are renewed. They that wait will run and not get weary. They that wait will walk and not get faint. They that wait are able to see the beauty of the Lord. Their patience is strengthened. Their hearts are purified. Their focus is laser sharp.

Will we join those that wait? Will we separate ourselves from the microwave generation and join the slow cooker crowd? Will we wait for the hand of the Lord to show itself? Will we be the ones who trust in the heart of God when we can’t see His hand?

In this seasons of New Year goals and resolutions, wait on the Lord for that weight loss as you strive for a healthier lifestyle. Wait on the Lord as He restores your finances as you budget and save. Wait on the Lord to reveal Himself as you seek Him through intentional fasting and prayer. Don’t give up! Just wait…

They that wait are empowered, encouraged, and emboldened to run on!

Labor and Delivery…

There may be many terms that define this year:

Unsettling

Unstable

Difficult

Challenging

Rough

And the list goes on.

And perhaps the above terms may describe this year for you. No one can negate that, however consider this perspective: what if the Lord was using this time to birth something within you? What if this tough, rough, and challenging year was your labor pains?

Think about childbirth. Labor, for some, is a hard, exhausting process. And for others, while they may have had some contractions, the laboring process wasn’t as difficult. However, all labor require some pain, some discomfort, and blood or sweat or tears.

The labor, once completed, produces this beautiful child. The labor is worth it, wouldn’t one say?

So what if this year were your labor pains? What if this was your time of discomfort, pain, and tears? Will you trust the Father with what’s coming? Your beautiful “child” is on its way! Maybe for some, it will be the birth of a new business. For some, it may be a rebirth for a struggling marriage. For others, it may be the birth of a book, a new career, or simply a new perspective.

We can’t promise that in 2021, the labor will be over. However, because we are in Christ, we can promise you that it’ll be worth it! The pain will produce a blessing. This pandemic may be a defining moment but it will not define you.

We can guarantee that the Lord, our God, is doing a new thing!

Your labor is not in vain. You are about to deliver a more profound faith! You are about to deliver a stronger relationship with the Lord! You are about to give birth to a steadfast walk in the Lord! You are about to birth your purpose, your mission, and your vision!

My friend, labor on just a little while longer! Pace that breath, P.U.S.H, and hold on to the Father’s hand! Cry out and endure just a little while longer. We know this year has been tough, but the Lord is with you. We know that this year has been unstable, but the Lord is our rock, our firm foundation. We know this year has been uncomfortable, just cling to the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter.

What you are about to birth, won’t compare to the pain you’ve experiencing. Just keeping P.U.S.H-ing

Peace and Blessings

The Word of God.

Have you ever found yourself rambling? What about venting, ever found yourself doing that? In our rambles and vents, sometimes we mean what we say, other times, our words are simply empty and just fills up space. And perhaps that’s a good thing! Ever had to apologize for what you’ve said? Maybe we should thankful for OUR empty words.

While, it may be hard to believe the words of humans, we should never doubt the word of God! It is full of authority, every word the Lord speaks is intentional, and the weight of the Lord’s words carry an immense amount of power!

Those promises you whisper to yourself, the scripture you recite when you are feeling low, the text that just makes you leap in your spirit-all will accomplish what the Lord desires! When you declare that you are more than a conqueror, the Lord means what He says! When you declare that you can do all things through Christ, the Word is so! Our words may be empty but we can trust in the Word of God!

You have overcome because the Lord said so. You are healed because the Lord said so. You shall live and not die because the Lord said so. You are forgiven because the Lord said so. You are loved because the Lord said so.

His Word is true! This is why we cling to His Word. This is why we use the Word to rebuke demonic spirits. The Word of God is full of power and authority. This is why we can declare and decree the Word of God because:

His Word does not return to Him empty and it accomplishes what He desires.

Friends, use the comment section to fill in the blank: “I am ________________ because the Lord said so!”

False Sense of Security…

“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord.” Isaiah‬ ‭31:1‬ ‭

Horses and chariots aren’t necessarily our cup of tea nowadays. Many of us don’t possess those items and if we do, they aren’t for war or fighting. Now, our horses may substituted for our home, cars, or life insurance. Now, our chariots may be considered our salaries and our degrees.

No one is saying that you shouldn’t try to obtain these things. We do have earthly needs. However, our sense of security should not be found in these things. If we lost our jobs, many of us would struggle with feeling secure. If we lost our cars, we may have a difficult time adjusting without it.

Horses, cars, chariots, and jobs offer a false sense of security. These things will not save us. These things are not our salvation. Just because we have a job, does not mean we are any better than someone who does not have a job. Our nice car does not give us a heavenly advantage over someone else.

Our possessions does not mean we will win the war. Do not find your worth, self-esteem, or confidence in things. They are temporal. They will fade and pass away. You can be decked out in jewels and designer brands and be failing spiritually.

Friends, let’s find our security in the One who is greater than anyone or anything this world can offer. Our security must be anchored in the One who defeated death, hell, and the grave. Let your possessions be what they are: just temporary, just materials, just things that will fade and rust.

Our treasure, our security is not found here on Earth.

We must look up: “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew‬ ‭6:20‬ ‭

Heaven contains our hope, our security, and our salvation. May we look to the Lord for our security, our joy, and our peace.

Power of Praise…

Music can produce emotions and feelings. Christmas songs tend to either get us into the Christmas spirit. Songs from your childhood tend to invoke feelings of nostalgia. The right worship song will make us a blubbering mess.

Praise and music are often connected. Praise and worship songs. Praise and worship leaders tend to direct the choir or musical ensemble of a church. Praise can be defined also as commendation, being approved, or admired, and a grateful acknowledgement in words or song. We may praise our children and spouses, along with other things, but we tend to use praise to express ourselves to the Lord.

Praise is an act of worship to the Lord, as evidenced multiple times throughout scripture. However, did you also know that praise has power? Let’s look to the Word:

Praise caused the foundations to shake! Imagine what power we would experience in our lives if we opted to praise instead of worry! Imagine the foundations shaking as you make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Imagine if we opted to dance our way through our tears, frustrations, and pains! Imagine the chains falling as you praise the Lord! There is power in your praise!

Friend, displaying our admiration to the Lord will shake the foundations of our very lives! Walls come down as we sing our worship songs. Singing thank you to the Lord helps us move from being ungrateful to thankfulness. Your acts of worship eliminates the worries! Your “holy, holy, holy” sends your cares to the Lord!

Let praise be what you do! The world tells us to cry and weep but do you see what Isaiah tells us? The Lord responded to praise! Your tears matter to the Father but it will be your praise that initiates a response!

Activate the power that is given you by way of the Holy Spirit with a sound of praise!

The Beauty of Our Feet…

It’s sandal season right? Even in the midst of COVID 19, women all over the world are making sure that our toes are ready to be shown! There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

We must remember that our feet serve a bigger purpose than being wrapped in the cutest sandals we can find. Our feet are used to deliver information. Our feet are used as tools of guidance, leading us in the direction we decide to go. Are we using our feet to bless or curse? Are we using our feet for gossip or goodness? Are our feet being used to flee evil or run to it?

Scripture tells us the direction in which our feet should go:

We cannot miss the spirit function of our feet. The Lord in His infinite wisdom have designed our bodies with specific intentionality. How beautiful are your feet? Do you bring good news? Do you publish peace? Do you publish salvation? How beautiful are your feet?

It is our mission to remember the beauty of our feet. It goes beyond wearing designer sandals or making sure that you have on polish. The Word of God reminds us that our feet should be the tools we use to deliver comfort, to promote peace, and to extend joy. We must preach the Gospel and our feet are the tools used to do so!

This extends beyond the physical presence of feet, this is about the spiritual function of our feet! We cannot miss the exhortation, our whole bodies, even our feet, are used to the glory of God. Think about the last call you received from a friend? Did you encourage one another! Did you deliver the good news to one another? Or was it to gossip? Did you promote peace?

How beautiful are your feet?

The Power of Your Witness…

“This will be your opportunity to bear witness.” Luke 21:13

Your triumphs and trials, your ways and words, your speech and stance, your challenges and conquests all bear witness of God’s greatness, power and authority. As believers, it is our job to proclaim to the world how amazing our God is! It’s a privilege that He decides to use us to preach the gospel with our lips and lifestyles.

Do not think it strange when you find yourself in the presence of those in authority, power, and prestige. Do not shrug off the promotion or leadership position. Do not ignore the positioning of your career and your sphere of influence. The world needs the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those whom are connected to you need to learn about the Living God.

They need to see your responsiveness to life’s difficulties. They need to hear you be gentle when it is so easy to be harsh. They need to know you chose love when hate was an option. They need to hear about how you got over.

Your healed scars are a witness of God’s healing power. Your joy is a testament of God’s presence. Your smile is an expression of God’s creativity. The grace you extend bears witness of God’s grace over your life.

He created YOU to bear witness…

This is your opportunity to bear witness…

Arise.

“…I, Deborah arose…” Judges 5:7

Hi friend, do you know that your name can be easily substituted for Deborah? Try it out.

I, _____________ arose.

It’s quite the bold statement when you really think about it. Arising means that you will take action. Arising means answering the call. Arising means 4am prayer sessions and intentional Bible studies. Arising means starting the business. Arising means casting out demonic spirits. Arising means saying no to good things and saying yes to God things. Arising is decreasing so He can increase.

The statement sounds powerful because IT IS powerful. The statement warrants wisdom, leadership, and discernment. The statement involves a charge. It requires boldness and courage. Are you ready to arise?

Will you arise sis? Will you arise for your family, your community, and your loved ones? Will you arise for the generation coming after you? Will you arise to actively proclaim God’s goodness and glory?

Businesses and organizations are waiting for you to rise up. Your children’s children need you to arise. You’ve got what it takes! You answering the call will transforms nations, communities, and families. Do not believe the lies of the enemy, you are good enough, you are graced enough to stand up for God and to be ALL that He’s called you to be.

You don’t need anyone’s permission, you were made to arise, to stand, and to be bold for Christ.

He’s calling out to you, will you arise?

Redeemed.

Redeem: to buy back; to get or win back; to free from captivity by payment of ransom; to help to overcome something; to release from blame or debt; to free from the consequences of sin; to change for the better; to repair and restore; to atone for; to make worthwhile

Free. Overcome. Repair. Restore. Atone. Worthwhile. Make it personal, sis! You are free. You are an overcomer. You are repaired. You are restored. You have been atoned for. You are worthwhile.

Those above statements defined who you are. Those above statements give a small glimpse into the amazing work of Christ. Those above statements must be reflected in our walk and talk.

My sister, you are redeemed. Perhaps you’ve been called many things, some good and some not so good. Your identity must be rooted in that ALONE. Let this characteristic shape your life, define your actions, and form your purpose.

Let the REDEEMED of the Lord say so!Let your life say so. Let your light say so. Let your work ethic say so. Let your treatment of loved ones say so. Let your treatment of strangers say so.

Don’t search too hard for “who you are”, scripture lays it out for us perfectly:

You are redeemed.

Let it go…

Remember the show “Hoarders”? It is quite interesting to see the amount of things people hold on to and the reasons why they do. From newspapers to collectibles, the variety was endless (and entertaining). It was fascinating (and sometimes gross) to see the conditions of folks’ homes.

It begs to wonder if that’s what our insides look like as we hold on to bitterness, resentment, anger, and unforgiveness. Every time we declare to “forgive and not forget”, we are collecting and holding on to that negative memory. Every seed of envy, bitterness, and anger is sitting in our spirits, collecting dust and sprouting spiritual mold. Every grudge is damaging the strength and integrity of our spiritual man.

Declare today to stop letting that toxicity damage you from the inside out and LET IT GO! Let go of that which does not develop you, strengthen you or encourage you. Let go of that which hurt you. Let go of the things that bring you no joy. Jesus died on the cross for that pain and sorrow you are carrying around, let it go! You no longer have to hoard the hurt and pain. You no longer need to remember, choose to forgive AND forget-God did that for you!

You aren’t hearing from God? Perhaps your spiritual house is cluttered. There is a “…time to keep and a time to throw away…” (Ecclesiastes 3:6), what needs to be discarded? Sis, let it go. Be free from the clutter and distractions.

As scripture exhorts us to let it go: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.” Isaiah 43:18, we have to trust in the Lord to fill that which is now empty and cleared. We have to believe that better is coming forth. Letting go of a toxic relationship makes room for healthy ones. Letting go of anger makes room for joy. Discard fear and you can receive contentment.

And as you de-clutter, discard, and remove, cling to this incredible truth:

Let it go.

Peace and Blessings
