Hope is not necessarily something that this world encourages us to have. When we hope that change will come, the news shows us statistics. When we hope that we won’t be diagnosed with a disease, we hear about how we are genetically disposed and we should pretty much expect it. When we hope we get the job, we are reminded about how we aren’t experienced or qualified enough for the position.
Hope requires courage. Maintaining hope requires us to look at all of the facts in their face and say that we will believe regardless of what facts say. Hope requires us to believe that we won’t become a statistic. Hope requires the courage to look beyond the massive qualifications of the job we’ve always dreamed about.
This is why we cannot afford to hope in jobs, degrees, or bank accounts. We cannot afford to hope in statistics or news correspondents. We cannot hope in this world or it’s fruits. Our hope must extend beyond what we see, what we’ve heard, or even our level of understanding. Our hope is in Christ alone.
The hope we must hold on to, the hope that will carry us through, the hope that have us pursuing our dreams is strong, trustworthy, and an anchor. This hope leads us to God. It is only through Jesus Christ. Friends, the courage of hope is in Christ Jesus!
This is the hope we use to start that business, to go on that missionary expedition, and to write that book. The hope that is through Jesus Christ has us subscribing to the belief in the Lord as the Healer and not our genetic histories. The courage of hope which is in Jesus Christ has us going for that dream job! The hope that is the anchor of our souls is what we must choose to cling to regardless of what they say or what we see.
Dear friend, be strong and courageous and hold on to hope.
Peace and Blessings
