Christmas time can be quite chaotic. Shopping, drivers on the road, trying to fulfill everyone’s desires-far from calm! It can overwhelm you, if you let it. You do not have to succumb to the noise. You don’t have to be swayed by the chaotic nature of the time. Sometimes in the midst of all the noise, in the midst of the shoppers, drivers, and needs-all can be calm, the Word tells us so:
In the midst of everyone pulling at your coattails, in the midst of the big Christmas dinner you have to prepare, in the midst of wrapping gifts-you can scream or whisper-Peace! Be still! The waves of your life will cease. The storm of your life will quiet down. The noise will lower its tone.
Jesus came so we could experience calmness and brightness even in the midst of the stormy weather of life.
For many, this can be a tough time of the year. And this year is especially unique. However, we as children of God do not have to a slave to the times. When we operate with the power and authority granted to us by way of the Holy Spirit, we can truly understand the lyrics of that sweet Christmas song “Silent Night”: All is calm. All is bright.
And all being calm and bright isn’t simply reserved for Christmas time. We are called to command the times to bow to the Father. We are called to command peace in chaos. We are called to shine in darkness.
All is calm, all is bright when we decree the peace of God which surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Peace and Blessings
