Dethroned: Fear

Fear cannot reign nor can it rule. Do you hear the Lord? Fear is not from Him. It can exist but it is not eternal. We all have something we are afraid of but it cannot have authority. Fear may be a natural response but we have supernatural power. The supernatural trumps the natural each and every time.

Let’s not give fear supernatural power, let’s not make fear an authority figure in our lives, and let’s not allow fear to sit on the throne of our hearts! Let’s be bold sisters! Let’s overrule the fear that tries to take root in our lives.

The Lord must be ruler, Master, and Lord over all of our lives. He is the One who frees us, He is the One who determine that power, love and a sound mind shall rule, and He is the One who has all power and authority in His mighty hands. Let’s toss fear at the feet of Jesus. No longer are we afraid! We are free-Hallelujah!

We don’t fear what will come: the future is in the Father’s hands. We don’t fear a repeat of our pasts: it is finished. We don’t fear our enemies: they shall be our footstool. We don’t fear Satan and His schemes: We, in Christ, have the victory!

Dethrone fear sisters! Let’s make sure that Christ alone sit on the thrones of our hearts and minds.

The Grand Finale…

We bet you can remember the series finale of your favorite tv show. You scheduled your whole evening around catching that moment. Sometimes the series finale was sweet and complete and other times, you may have walked away disappointed. And there may be those moments when you were just left with a big whole question mark!

In Christ, we don’t have to wonder about how the story will end. We don’t have to wonder about what’s going to happen. We don’t have to wonder if there is going to be a part two to the story. The Father is so awesome and gives it to us straight:

Friends, this right here is enough to make you shout! No more tears! No more pain! No more sorrow! No more death! He will come back to wipe those tears! Never again do we have to worry about pain, cancer, riots, elections-those things are passing away!

Clinging to this is important, now and for always. This is why we preach. This is why we minister. This is why we keep on praying for our loved ones to get saved! So they can experience this-the love of the Father! We preach Christ because in Him there will be a new Heaven and Earth! We get to spend the rest of eternity crying out “holy, holy, holy” and basking in the glory of our Savior.

The finale, friends, is greater than any sitcom or drama you’ve seen. This finale, friends, is indeed grand! You may say: that’s nice but what about COVID? What about the results of this election? What about systematic racism? All great concerns, of course. However, as you encounter tomorrow and the day after that: consider it all, whatever burdens you, whatever plagues you, consider it in the light of eternity, consider the grand finale.

“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison…” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:17‬

The Art of Casting…

To cast can mean throwing something in a specific direction…

So as believers we are called to cast our cares, anxieties, or worries on Christ because He cares for us.

The Lord tells us the direction in which to cast our worries, and that is on Him, because He cares for us. We have our direction and our directive. So how many of us does this scenario describe?

We go through a tough situation. We worry, we fret, we become anxious and nervous. So we go before the Lord, crying, pleading, and begging. We vent and we get up and we move on. Sometimes we leave the cares there and sometimes we place the cares right back on our shoulders.

There is an art to casting. In order to throw something in a specific direction, it takes concentration and focus. We have to have our eyes on the desired target. Many times we neglect to properly cast our cares on the Lord because we aren’t focused on Him, we are focused on the worries and anxieties. Without clarity and focus, we will miss what the Master is trying to do for us.

Casting requires intentionality. We don’t cry and vent to the Lord just to pick the concerns back up. We cast and we leave the cares there because our Father knows best. We cast our cares because He is built for the burdens and concerns.

Casting produces peace, joy, and hope. Casting reminds us that He is the Shepherd and we are the flock. Casting reminds us that He is our Rock and our Redeemer.

May we all perfect the art of casting.

More Than A Conqueror…

Conquer: to overcome and take control of; successfully overcome; climb successfully.

That definition describes who you are in Christ! Let’s look to the Word:

You are no longer a slave to your circumstances, desires, and past. Perhaps you are wondering how to overcome, how to take control of, how to climb over the issues that having been plaguing you forever? Perhaps you’ve tried before and just couldn’t do it? Be encouraged! The way we conquer, take control of, and climb over is through Christ Jesus! Our victory isn’t accomplished by our “…own strength and power…” We can’t do it on our own. Our “help will come from my Spirit.’ This is what the Lord All-Powerful says.” (Zechariah 4:6, Easy to Read Version)

Being more than a conqueror permits you to overcome, which is exciting enough, but it permits you also to take control of (insert whatever it may be here…)! To take control is trusting, surrendering and submitting to the Lord in the supernatural and doing what’s necessary in the natural.

The declaration in the supernatural has natural responsibilities.

The declaration of freedom from depression and anxiety means you have to seek out the appropriate resources in the natural in order to take control of those issues.

The conquering of worry requires you to lean on the Lord for understanding and direction.

Overcoming a toxic relationship requires a complete break from that individual.

And you can do it! Being more than a conqueror is a promise guaranteed to His children because of the finished work of Christ on the cross! Our Father’s words never return to Him empty.

So sisters, stand in the power and authority granted to you by the Holy Spirit. Operate yourselves as conquerors! As a child of God, it is your God-given right to successfully overcome, to climb successfully, and to take control of. Take refuge in the identity established by God the Father. You are who God says you are, and He has declared that you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, trust Him at His word!

My friend, “overwhelmingly victory” belongs to you (Romans 8:37, New Living Translation). Take hold of it and never let go.
