Identity Crisis…

Adolescents spend their teen years learning about who they are and how to define themselves. Without the proper foundation and a solid support system, an crisis may occur. The crisis may resolve itself with some tender, love, and care from the right support. The crisis may resolve itself as the adolescent, or young adult, enters into a new environment. However, without a firm foundation and accountability, that crisis may extend into adulthood.

Some people spend their whole lives trying to figure out who they are. Some find their identity in their career. Others may find their identity in their spouse. For some, it’s their bank accounts and for others, it may be their children. At times, the people of God may find their identities in their title or position in the church. Friends, all these things will fade away.

The title, the children, and the spouse-all are temporary. We must find our identities in Christ or we too will experience a crisis! Friends, this is not the time for a crisis. People are perishing-we simply do not have time to wrap ourselves in careers and money. The lost and dying world need to know that we belong to Christ! They need to know that we are children of the Lord God Almighty! They need us to be the planter or the waterer that the Good Lord made us to be.

Why? Let’s look to the Word:

Someone you know needs a new life. Someone you know needs to know about a Man named Jesus! Someone you know is lonely and needs to know that there is One who longs to be their friend. Someone you know needs to know about that their past does not have to define who they are today. They need to know that their story can be re-written and with Christ, it includes a Savior who saves us!

Our identity tends to establish our priorities. Let’s not live for the title or the position, let’s live for God through Jesus Christ! He is our solid rock and our firm foundation-He is the Chief Cornerstone! In Him, we have solid support and He blesses us with incredible community. We belong to the Lord our God!

As we know WHO we are and WHOSE we are, we can freely share about who He is!

Oh, the Audacity!

Audacity is a willingness to take bold risks. And it’s often used in a negative context: “she had the audacity to…” or “he had the audacity to…”

Being in Christ requires audacity! We have to stand against what we see and what the world says to believe in Someone we do not see. We have to stand on promises that has yet to manifest. We have to trust in the Word of God-oh, the audacity! It is all starts with a mustard seed:

Your willingness to take bold risks start out with a small seed. Faith requires audacity! Do you have the audacity to believe? Do you have the audacity to love that family member everyone has wrote off? Do you have the audacity to go for that goal?

Let them say: She had the audacity to write that book! She had the audacity to ask for healing for an incurable disease! She had the audacity to start that podcast! She had the audacity to preach the Gospel!

Take your mustard seed of faith, our sister, stand the face of fear and declare that YES-You have the audacity! You will love your enemy and do good to those who hate you because God said so, you will intercede for the lost, you will believe that God can and will move mountains and you will trust in the Lord God Almighty!

The Power of Can’t…

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” Henry Ford

Have you ever taught a young child how to do something? When experiencing difficulty, they usually say-“I can’t do it” or “It’s not working”. As the adult, you generally find another strategy to use so that they can gain the concept. You may even simply encourage them to try again. And whether it takes once or five more times, they usually get it done.

The usage of “can’t” prohibits us. Saying that we cannot do something limits us. Every variation of cannot limits us and if we think about it, we limit the movement of God. Instead of saying, “I can’t give it up” or “I don’t have what it takes to accomplish this task”, we must switch our language to focusing on what God can do. The moment “can’t” leaves your lips, it manifests! There is life and death in the power of the tongue.

Let’s remove those limitations, let’s take the limits off! May we diminish the power of the “can’t”! May we decrease it’s power and increase the power of the Lord in our lives! The Lord can and will do that which is according to His will and His way! Let’s take our eyes off the “can’t” and put it on the “can” of the Lord! What can God do? He can do the impossible:

The moment “can’t” tries to leave your lips, submit that thought immediately to the Lord. You can lead that business. You can start that company. You can become debt free. You can be healed and made whole. This isn’t about prosperity gospel, this is about acknowledging and submitting to the power of the Lord!

Destroy the power of “can’t” and allow what the Lord can do in you and through you be made manifest in your life!

Will You Rejoice?

Habakkuk chose to rejoice. The prophet rejoiced even though:

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls…” Habakkuk‬ ‭3:17‬

The prophet didn’t focus on the drought or the barrenness of the land. The prophet focused on the Lord and His goodness. The prophet chose not to focus on what’s in the Lord’s hand but what’s in His heart.

Will we rejoice? Will we rejoice when the cupboards are bare? Will we rejoice when family drama seems to be intensifying? Will we rejoice when that door closes? Habakkuk was knowledgeable of the Lord His God and His capability to restore. The prophet knew that His Father was the Creator of the Universe. He knew that the promises of the Lord stand the test of time and complexity of our situations.

Rejoice regardless dear sisters! Rejoice in the Lord in the midst of the pandemic! Take joy in the Lord and regardless of your circumstances! Have plenty? Rejoice! Have little? Rejoice! Need answers? Take comfort in the God of your salvation! It’s not about what we see, it’s about what He said-Rejoice in the Lord, always!

Will we rejoice?

To the Beautiful Jar of Clay:

Dear Lord,

May the sister who encounters this post realizes that she is a treasure box, full of wonder. Lord, we know that the father of lies has told her that she is worthless and that she is nothing special, but Lord we know those are lies from the pit of Hell!

Lord, may she wake up everyday and realize that she is fearfully and wonderfully made. Lord, may she see everyday how just full of wonder she truly is because she was crafted in Your image and likeness. Oh Lord, may she stand on Your truth and Your promises for her life.

Father, may this beautiful jar of clay, molded perfectly by Your hands, stand on Your Word that she is an overcomer, that she is more than a conqueror, and that she is mighty in Christ. May she realize that the treasure that is within her will power her to scale mountains, to stand strong in valleys, and to submit her cares and concerns to you.

Lord, may she understand that the treasure within her is You. And may that truth be her strength.

In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Progress…

Not perfection.

Every step you take matters. Every move you make gets you one step closer. Every step is progress.

Press on, sister! You will accomplish that goal! Progress is the goal! Every hair does not have to be perfectly in place. Every step does not have to be elegant. You may have to sweat a little. There may be tears. The mascara may run and the lipstick may get smeared but progress should be the goal, never perfection.

You are still graceful. You are still beautiful. Every stumble is an opportunity to get back up again. Every fall, every weakness reminds us to depend on the Savior. No matter how hard we try, we won’t reach perfection because it’s already been achieved! Our Savior is the perfect model. He is the perfect person and nothing compares to Him.

Keep on walking, you are making progress! Press on towards that mark!

Instead of trying to reach some false perception of perfection, may this be our heart and our goal:

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭3:14‬

The Time Is Now!

The time is now! No more waiting, no more “I’ll do it when…”-now is the time for the launch!

We are all about waiting for the perfect time, the perfect moment. I have you ever heard yourself saying, “it’s not the right time”, and you wait-and you wait a little longer-and before you know it-it never happens?

Our sister, it is time for you to move. Get that degree, start the business, preach the Word, set that routine! You can do it, you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you! In Christ you have all you need to accomplish that goal! It starts with one step. It starts by opening that notebook and mapping out that business plan. It starts with putting that $5 into that savings account. It start with movement and just a little faith.

Your adversary wants you to say that it’s not the right time. He wants you to wait so that he can plant a seed of distraction, a seed of delay-he wants you to wait and get even more burdened down with cares that push you away from your purpose. The devil knows that when you get started, he can no longer stop you! He knows that when you getting moving, the Lord is already crafting out the vision. Don’t fret overcomer! Satan and his schemes will be destroyed and defeated-hallelujah! Know that the time is now!

You don’t have to wait for God’s favor, you have it now! Now is the day of salvation! Now is the acceptable and favorable time.

It all starts with us and our sisters, the time is now!

Peace and Blessings

Vision Works…

It’s something lovely when you see the big picture. You can see the big booming business, you can see the strut across the stage, you can see the beautiful children-the vision looks incredible!

Rarely do we picture the work. Rarely do we see the tears and the sweat. Rarely do we see the money spent and the time put in. But there is work required for the vision, friends.

That business requires a plan, time, and money. That degree requires long nights and tons of studying. Those children have to be carried, pushed out, and cared for. That beautiful vision requires work.

The vision requires prayer. The vision requires faith. The vision requires relationship. The vision has to be submitted to the Lord so that He may establish the work of our hands. The Word tells us so:

The vision must be put on paper and put into action. Vision works! It requires connections, community, and collaboration. Seeing the vision of God come to pass in our lives requires a trust in Him that far exceeds what we see. We must look to the hills from where our help comes from.

Friends, the vision must accompanied with unyielding faith in the Father-and that requires work! Declaring prosperity in dry times is work, decreeing a thriving environment while operating in survival mode is work, declaring positivity in a world full of negativity is work!

Work the vision, friend! Commit all that you do to the Lord and see the establishment of your plans!

Revival…

When you work in a specific field for many years, you may find yourself in need of a boost or a change. For some, it may be all about attending a training or conference to learn new ways to do your job. Others may need a change in job location or a whole new career.

In one way or other, you may recognize the need for revival! The concept of reviving is all about bringing something back to life. It’s all about pumping life into a thing. It’s about reviving something that may be dying or is dead.

Marriages need a revival. Friendships need a revival. Careers need a revival. You need a revival! The Word of God has been sent forth to do many things and reviving our soul is one of those beautiful things:

Listen friends, this world and its woes are draining. Trying to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders is draining. Trying to stay on the right path is exhausting. You must revive yourself! You must refill. You must take some time to go before the Lord.

It’s time for a revival! Fast, pray, sing, dance-exchange that weariness for singing, exchange that sorrow for joy, exchange that sighing for praising. Revive your soul with the Word. Revive your mind with seeking out the Kingdom. Revive your life with a deeper relationship the Lord.

Joy awaits at the end of revival. Witty ideas, strategies and inventions awaits you on the other side of revival. Renewed focus is waiting for you as you revive yourself. Strength, gladness, and abundant life can be seen and experienced as we revive ourselves.

Establish revival for yourself by sitting at the feet of Jesus!
