Usually every 2nd and 4th Saturday, Sisters Helping Sisters leads a prayer session through a conference line. Today was different and while we could not do it the traditional way, the Lord laid encouraging words and prayer on my heart for my sisters!
The promises of God will always and forever stand the test of time. His promises will always manifest and His Word is living and active!
Massages are considered to be therapeutic. They can help one become more flexible, help one relax, and can be a tool to alleviate pain and discomfort. With the right touch and pressure, a stuffy nose can be resolved, a stiff shoulder can move without pain, and a fussy baby can be sent to a peaceful sleep.
Christians need massage therapy. Not in the context of the world’s perception of massages but we need our hearts to be massage. Hearts become heartened for a number of reasons: trauma, failed relationships, toxic friendships, and the list goes on. We are warned about guarding our hearts because from them flow the wellspring of life. How can anything flow from a hardened place? We need some massage therapy and who better than to go to the Kings of King for His loving touch?
Oh how we need the Father to massage our tender hearts with His love and care?! A stony heart cannot be penetrated with the power of God’s Word. A heart of stone cannot produce living water. A heart of stone must be submitted to God for a heart of flesh.
The Lord wants us to love Him endlessly. He wants us to care for others tremendously. And we cannot do that without some massage therapy from the Father. Our softened hearts leads us to being submissive. A softened heart is led to repentance. A heart of flesh facilitates true worship.
Friend, you may have been harden by the ills of this world. You may have been hurt and abused. You may have experienced trauma. Turn to the Father for massage therapy!
You may have stumbled. You may have fallen. You may have tripped. You may have even decided to lay down willingly. But now it is time to get up!
Sister, you’ve been down long enough. You may have tripped over that stumbling block. You may have been blocked by that obstacle. You may have willingly laid down from exhaustion. Get up sis! The time for resting is over! Don’t you let the enemy think he’s won! Oh no, only Christ has the victory!
It’s so easy to stay down. Let’s be empowered by Christ! He did not stay down. He did not declare defeat. Remember, in His last moments, God had forsaken Him-not for His disobedience, but for the mission! Jesus had to go down, but He did not stay there! Amen?! He got up! Let His story be your power!
Now it is time for you to rise! He got up and out of the tomb! It is time for you to get out of that funk! It is time for you to get out of your feelings. It’s time for you to stop letting emotions be in the driver seat!
It’s time to get out. It’s time to get out and do the will of the Lord. It is time to get out and follow Yahweh! It’s time to get out and pound the pavement for our soul, for our loved ones, for the ones who are coming behind us!
It’s time to get up and get out “to have demons be subject to us in the name of Jesus; to have authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy,” Luke 10:17, 19.
You getting up and getting out will shake the very foundation your life and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:19. We are waiting for you to get up and out friends!
The annual physical for most includes a thorough examination of the body. Some doctors will even include discussion surrounding mental health, in addition to physical health. The physical can be dreaded at times-for some, they may reveal a problem, for others, it may shine light on preventable health issues, and others it may simply include uncomfortable conversations.
The physical, we know, is necessary. It can begin a course of treatment that is much needed. For others, it may remind them of the changes that they need to make to have a healthy lifestyle. The temple must be cared for.
The spirt is even more important! The body will eventually fade, the spirit will continue on. The examination of our spirit cannot be annual, it must be daily-moment by moment. The spirit stands above the flesh! Our spirit is the source for our eating right and exercising. As trying and as scary as it may be, we must find ourselves like David:
Just like we make our yearly appointments at the doctor’s office, we must make our daily appointments before the Father. The physician will keep us healthy, the Master Physician will make us whole, He will make us healed, and He will complete us! The doctor will prescribe medication, the Lord will prescribe repentance, fasting, prayer, and the reading of scripture. The doctor may guide us towards a long life, the Father leads us towards eternity:
“And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalms 139:24
It’s time for the thorough examination, friends, this exam will save our lives!
What could we give the Creator of the Universe that would demonstrate just how much we love Him? Let’s consider the scriptures:
Our money, our time-while valuable here, doesn’t carry the weight of a broken and repentant heart. How amazing is the Lord in that He wants our broken and messed up selves? He wants us to take our broken and sin filled selves and lay before Him. We are the greatest sacrifice, the greatest gift we could give the Lord! He wants the nooks and crannies of our lives that we insist on hiding. He wants the destructive thoughts. He wants us-stain filled and all!
From the heart flows the wellspring of life, it’s no wonder that this is our greatest sacrifice! We spend our lives giving our hearts to humans who are designed to fail us, careers that will eventually end, and relationships that cannot save. We have to first start with the One who created us in our mothers wombs, the One who died for us, the One who defeated the grave for us. He wants your heart!
Sisters, let’s lay our broken selves before the Lord God Almighty. Let’s take our weak spirits, our weaknesses, our stinky thoughts and lay them at the feet of Yahweh! This our greatest sacrifice: our beautiful, broken, and complex selves.
Albert Ellis is credited with initiating the phrase ‘stinking thinking’. The best description of the concept is that this line of thinking is based on the “human tendency to engage with thoughts that do not serve us.” (Author Unknown)
Our thoughts are seeds that sprouts. Thoughts will manifest into actions (or reactions). They can either be beautiful and fruitful trees or roots that choke. Our minds are the starting point for beautiful ideas and powerful concepts. The enemy is actively pursuing us and he starts with our minds. Satan is the father of lies and it starts in our minds! Stinky thinking is destructive. Stinky thinking is not of God.
The Word of God has guidance for His children when it comes to our thoughts:
It’s time to put an end to stinky thoughts! We are designed to be a sweet smelling fragrance. We are crafted to be great thinkers. How can we be who God called us to be if we allow our thoughts to run rampant? How can we build great plans if we do not think that we are noble, lovely, or admirable?
Your thoughts will either destroy or build up. Your thoughts will either be lovely or cruel. Your thoughts will promote life or death. This is why the Word of God tells believers to renew our minds with the Word of God. This is our greatest weapon against that tendency to go left. The Word is our greatest defense against the enemy’s schemes.
Submit those stinky thoughts to the Lord! Let’s be determined to cast down anything that tries to set itself up against the Lord and His Word. Place those stinky thoughts under your feet and stand on the truth of the Lord.
It is not Christmas. However, this lyric from “Joy To The World”, is found to be very relevant during Holy Week: “Let every heart, prepare Him room…” Holy Week focuses on the ultimate sacrifice Christ made on the cross and his victory achieved in the grave. His resurrection and His defeat of sin should be the primary reason why we must make room for Him.
Friends, we must prepare Him room. There is so much in the world vying for our attention and affection. In order to ensure that Christ is in the proper place in our lives, we have to “prepare Him room”. The junk and clutter must be cleared out: Worry. Anxiety. Comparison. Distractions. Discouragement. Discontentment. Strife. Envy. It all must go!
Submitting our hearts to Him, the very place from where the wellspring of life flows, prepares room for Him. Preparing room for Him gives Him glory!
Doesn’t the Lord deserve the space in our hearts?! Isn’t He worthy of all our praise?! Shouldn’t we bow to His glory?! Clear the pathway of your heart, the Master commands attention! Let’s transform our mind-the Creator of the Universe needs His space! And He desires to take residence in YOU, hallelujah!
Making room for the Lord, makes Him center stage of our lives. It all begins with our hearts, then it heads to our minds, and manifests into action.
(Another sister in Christ wrote an post about hiding and seeking-I had to mention it, the Holy Spirit moves in mighty ways! Check her post out here: Hide and Seek)
Maybe you are hiding from a major conflict…
Maybe you are hiding from God’s mission for your life…
Maybe you are hiding from hurt and pain…
Maybe you are hiding because someone is pursuing you…
Sister, it is time to stop hiding! It is time for you to come out from that spot behind that rock, behind that tree-it is time for you to seek the Lord and come forward! The Lord is waiting for you to stop running. He is waiting for you to stop using that job, those vain things, and that relationship to block yourself from being all that the Lord has created you to be!
The time for hiding is over. Now it is time to seek the Lord. Pursue Him relentlessly. Be after His heart. Strive for His Will. Seek His face. Seek His purpose for your life. Seek His plan for your life. Our children and our children’s children need us to come out of hiding. Our souls need us to come our of hiding. Why? So that we can experience abundant life, so that we can be set free of toxicity, so that we can be free.
We may be feeling disenchanted and discouraged. We may be experiencing discontentment so we run to our secret hiding place. We run to a place where we can wear masks and be someone we are not. It is time to come forth and live.

Everyone has a “primetime”-that time of day when you are at your optimal best. For some, it’s the morning and others, it’s the evening. During this primetime, you get an large task accomplished-whether it’s cleaning or working out. We typically commit our primetime to the task that may be most challenging or tedious.
We may call that our primetime, we can also refer to it as our first fruit. The best part of our day is given so that we can get the job done. What about our relationship with God? What part of our day do we commit to Him? Do you give the Lord the firstfruit of your day? If we don’t, we should. Lets look to the Word:
This is not to say that we should not honor the Lord with our whole day, continuously praying and seeking His face. However, it’s that set apart and special time that transforms us and our day! The best parts of our day positions us to hear Him clearly. The first fruit is the sacrifice of our day and time to place Him first in our life and the center of our hearts. And looks at what the Lord gives in return?! “…Barns that are filled with plenty andvatsthat are bursting with wine.”
The Word of God charges us to seek His face early in the morning and to meditate on His Word day and night. It’s the first fruits that tells God that He is worth our best. It’s not about the length of time, it is about the quality of time. We must position ourselves to spend quality time with our Father. And as we submit our best to Him, as we become intimate with our Savior, we are prepared to receive His best! There is power is handing the Lord your God, the best part of you. He longs to be close to us all as we are His children and the apple of His eye.
Let’s honor the Lord our wealth and first fruit: it’s so much more powerful than our money-it’s about our time.
