‘Tis the season, right? This season is usually full of shopping, family, cleaning, and yummy food-rarely does rest come into the equation. Even though many job places are intentional about giving employees time off, school shuts down, and many operations cease during this time-rest is rarely on the agenda.
Mighty warrior, the rest of the world may be hustling and bustling during this time but we cannot afford to do so. Everything we do, must be from a place of rest. The enemy wants to see us weary and worn! When wearied, we become reckless with our words, our quiet time disappears, and we become less compassionate.
Our victory is obtained through resting in our Savior, the One who won the battle for us. Being rested means abiding in the risen Savior. Resting is choosing to focus on Him instead of the newest and shiniest material possession. Resting in Jesus is less about having the nicest decorations and more about savoring time with loved ones. Rest is functioning from love instead of obligation.
Being well-rested is a powerful tool in our spiritual warfare! We are able to hear the Lord better, able to focus more, and we are able to operate from a place of wisdom.
We talk about rest on our newest podcast! Check out a snippet here:

As you enjoy the sights and sounds of the season, let’s commit to focusing on this powerful promise of the Lord: “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.” Matthew 11:28-29 TPT
