The Armor of God: Praise

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. The fight isn’t against flesh and blood. Therefore, it makes sense that the armor of God isn’t crafted by human hands. So today, let’s consider the power of our praise! Praise is truly a weapon!

Praise is often considered to be synonymous with music. It’s so much more! Our praise doesn’t come from Maverick City Music or Fred Hammond, it comes from the fruit of our lips and our lips alone! It’s the words you speak, the tears that run down your cheek, and the groan and moan before the Lord. Let’s consider the Word:

Go back and read Joshua 6 and the fall of the wall of Jericho. The people’s faithfulness, obedience and praise caused the wall to fall! Their shout was a weapon! They had access to the manmade tools to cause the wall to fall but their praise was much more powerful!

Is there a wall blocking access to your promised territory? Is there a mountain in your way? Praise your way through! There is power in your praise! Praising the Lord is a great weapon in your arsenal.

The enemy wants you to speak negatively. He’s waiting for you to speak death to your promise-sisters, let’s choose to praise our way through the fight! Let’s choose to rejoice and give thanks unto the Lord for the victory!

It’s time to strap on praise. It’s time to lift our hands and our voices and declare that the Lord is GOOD and that He is worthy to be praised!

Pick up your praise and fight-the Lord, your God, is with you!

Motivation Monday!

Trying to figure out the age old question of “who am I?” can be downright exhausting. We tend to look to our left and to our right to answer that question. But sister, it is time to look up. The Lord of Lords and the King of Kings has already answered that question for us! Firstly, let’s look to the Word:

The Armor Of God: Focus

Focus is important in warfare. Soldiers do not shoot aimlessly. They are focused on their target. They aren’t focused on what their fellow soldiers are doing, they do not become distracted by their scenery-they remain centered on the mission at hand.

We can stand to learn something from those who have engaged in battle-in the natural and in the supernatural.

When Jesus was headed to the cross, He kept His eyes straight ahead, knowing that the mission was greater than what He was facing in the moment. When Caleb and Joshua visited the promise land, they did not get distracted by the giants-they remained focused on the promise that God had for the children of Israel.

Focus is an essential component of the armor of God! We cannot afford to lose focus or to become distracted. This is why this Word is of great importance:

Remember hearing in church to turn to you neighbor? The time of looking to our neighbors is over sisters! Its time to keep our gaze straight ahead so that we can press towards the mark!

As you put on your armor, consider your focus! Are you more concerned about what your neighbor is doing or are you focused on your mission? Are you more focused on the plan of God for someone’s life and not yours? Are you aware of your surroundings, naturally and supernaturally?

Look to the hills-that’s where your help comes from. Set your minds on things above, the eternal is what lasts forever. Press towards the mark-what the Lord has for you is ahead of you and not behind you!

Focus-mighty woman of God! It’s essential for our fight against those demonic spirits and principalities that are out to steal, kill and destroy. Focus on the victory that is already yours in Christ Jesus!

Armored Up Wednesdays…

We are so excited for this new season for Sisters Helping Sisters. The Lord is taking on a thematic journey and we are allowing the Holy Spirit to have His way! Over the next few Wednesdays, we are highlighting the importance and necessity of wrapping ourselves in the armor of God.

The armor is needed because we are at war! The enemy wants us to continue to fight one another, he wants us to be at war with our neighbors or those who don’t do what we do. Sisters, we cannot afford to get caught up in the hype!

If you turn to the news or hop on social media, you will see the war raging on! For example, yesterday was a big Election Day for Virginia. The enemy is using the media to get people upset at the results. He wants to put fear in people and he wants to use politics to cause division. He’s a liar and incapable of truth!

Whether it’s politics, education, or just everyday matters, we must remember we are not fighting against flesh and blood:

And since our fight is not against flesh and blood, our weapons cannot afford to be carnal…it’s time to gear up!

Join us for Armored Up Wednesdays!
