Scriptures have been used to justify slavery, to justify belittling women, and used to condemn others. We wonder how the Lord feels about that? Did we even seek Him out? His Word is too powerful to be misused!
We can only imagine that the Lord is not pleased when His Word is mishandled. He knows that the Word is authority and we should know as well. It will do what He has commanded it to do. He is not out to see others enslaved, women demeaned, or people condemned. His Word is life and it has been used improperly.
Let’s remember that His Word is authority, used to cement the the rule and reign of God Almighty.
His Word is firm. His Word is settled. His Word is cemented. His Word is power. His Word is authority. What did God say about the matter? If He said it, it is so. We are to stand on His authority and His alone.
Our situations must bow to the authority of God’s Word. Our enemies are defeated by the authority of God’s Word. Our purposes and plans are found in God’s Word. It is His promises that define our lives. Before we research the world’s perspective, did we seek out the Father’s command?
The Lord’s Words are not empty, meaningless mumblings-they are life shaping, life forming, and life giving. God’s Word is authority.
Isn’t it amazing what a kind word can do for your day? Think about the last time someone genuinely complimented you-how did it make you feel? What did it do for your day? Research shows the power of gratitude, the wonder of appreciation, and the art of thankfulness-it has health benefits, affects your productivity, and alleviates sadness.
While science made have just discovered the benefits of a positive word, believers of God through Jesus Christ should know the power of words. The Word of God is life!
Words are living, breathing, and active. Need to feel better? Speak God’s Word over you! Need to be encouraged? Go to the Word! Need to comfort someone? Use the Word of God! Facing a tough situation? Declare and decree the promises of God over your situation.
We must remember the power that is in God’s Word. Maybe the social sciences are just getting the program but we cannot afford to forget that our salvation story starts with the Word of God! We spoke and believed that God did it. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony! The Word of God is life.
It’s not just an positive affirmation. It is not just a positive statement or quote. It is living, breathing, and active.
This has nothing to do with who you present yourself to be, your status, or your educational attainment. Being chosen in Christ is not like being in the world. The world selection process is all about tangible and temporary things. Thank God that He does not function in the same capacity!
We are chosen in Christ when we say yes! We are chosen when we agree with what the Father says about us. We are chosen when we choose to believe in the promises of the Lord! Your degree and your childhood experiences do not automatically enter you into the Father’s kingdom. We are chosen by admitting that we cannot survive with God through Jesus Christ.
Rejoice and be glad! The Father is waiting to accept us with open arms. He is willing to choose us if we are willing to be accepted. He receives us as we receive Him. We should be glad to know that He loves us unconditionally!
Maybe you grew up in multiple foster homes, perhaps you were rejected by a parent. Maybe you were passed over for the promotion, or rejected by a friend. Maybe your dream school denied you or you were denied for that loan. No matter the circumstances, we promise that you have been handpicked and chosen by the Father!
He sees you as chosen, holy, royalty, and a special possession. All you have to say is “yes Lord, I am available, choose me!”
Active listening skills are encouraged in the world of Human Services. From counseling to teaching, true listening requires eyes and ears. The concept of active listening is to ensure that we are listening to the person in totality. This concept isn’t not foreign to the Word of God, active listening skills are identified in the Word. Let’s see what the Father says:
Without active listening skills, we cannot hear the voice of God. Our eyes seek out the Word. Our ears harken to His voice. Our eyes seek out the move of God. Our ears listen out for fellow believers to connect with for kingdom building. How can we obey the Lord if we do not hear the Lord?
We must actively listen for the voice of the Lord. The temple builders had to ensure that they heard the Lord to learn the measurements and materials needed to complete the temple. Without hearing His voice; there is no way they would have completed the work. How can we fulfill our purpose without actively listening to the Lord?
Are we actively listening to the voice of the Father? Are we using our eyes and ears to hear Him? Are we taking note of His commands and directives? Active listening isn’t just for the natural, it’s also required for the supernatural.
In order to see the move of God, we have to hear the voice of God. The Father is speaking, are we actively listening?
When someone attempts to contact us between the hours of 9am to 5pm, most of us would say that we are at work-and for the over nighters, they are usually preparing for work.
Whether you are self-employed or work for an organization, work requires so much of our time. Work is exhausting. Work is time consuming. Work is demanding. But work is what we must do.
We can view it from the natural perspective, right? Work provides for our families. Work helps us operate in our purpose. And although it is demanding, work is fulfilling. Work is also required in the supernatural. Let’s look to the Word:
Jesus’s command is for us to work until He comes. While one can interpret this from a natural perspective, we must know that the Savior means that we are to do His business until He returns. Work is demanding, but necessary. Work is time consuming, but it’s our appropriate position. People are dying without knowing Christ because the people of God are not doing their job by planting and watering. It’s time to get to work!
As a blood washed, born again believer-the charge has been given: Occupy until Jesus returns. We cannot afford to retire from ministry, it’s our service! Preaching the Word of God through Jesus Christ is our lifelong service.
We preach when we give of ourselves. We preach when we encourage someone with the Word of God. We minister by caring for our families. We work as we testify about the goodness of Christ. We preach by living out the Word of God. We work by exuding joy, choosing patience, and loving our enemies. We are working when we are fasting and praying. We are working when we are declaring and decreeing the promises of God.
We should always be at work, not at our secular place of employment but doing our Father’s business. Whether it’s 5pm or 5am, when someone is looking for us, we must be at work.
Tenaciousness can carry an negative connotation at times. Someone being considered tenacious can be linked to being rude, aggressive, and without care and concern for others. Isn’t it amazing how the Lord can turn whatever He desires from negative to positive for His glory? Let’s consider this verse:
“Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior].” Hebrews 4:14 AMP
The amplified version of Hebrews 4:14 exhorts believers to cling tenaciously! Let us cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in the Father! Let’s be firm, aggressive, and without care or concern for the things of the world when it comes to trusting in our Father! Let’s be unwilling to yield or compromise when it comes to holding to our confession and our faith in the Lord our God.
The world will want to define you as foolish, naive, and silly for clinging to Someone who you cannot see, touch, or feel. This world will want us to loosen our grip and grab on to the tangible and the destructible. The Word gives us that warning:
Be tenacious for our Father! Cling to our Creator! This concept of clinging requires focus, strength, patience and love. Your firm grasp is power! Your faith will move the mountains of your life, if only we can remember to cling tenaciously.
Be unwavering in articulating about the power of the Lord our God. Be passionate about demonstrating the love of God through Jesus Christ. Be immovable about declaring the goodness of God.
Sisters, let’s cling tenaciously to the very One who saved us from the brink of death. Let’s cling to our Savior.
In order to experience life, you must know about death. In order to experience healing, you must know about pain. In order to experience abundance, you must know about not having enough. In order to experience victory, you must know about being defeated.
The more we live, the more we realize that there is power in the name of Jesus. We know He is the life giver. We know He is the healer. We know He is the provider. We know He is victorious. We know that there is a Name that is above all names.
His Name is Peace. His Name is Lord. He is the Provider. He is Victorious. The Lord, our Banner. Jehovah Jireh. Jehovah Nissi. Jehovah Shalom. Jesus. Messiah. Lord. Savior. More than A Conqueror.
There is a name that saves:
There is a name that will bring us to our knees, the name of the Lord our God! How blessed are we as we cry out to our Father, He comes to our rescue? What name on Earth or Heaven has the power to move mountains? The name of the Lord, our God!
“Help me, Jesus“ can be the start to our breakthrough! Let’s call on the name of the Lord instead calling on the issues that weigh us down. Instead of calling on the name of diseases and diagnoses, let’s call on the Name of our Healer. Instead of calling ourselves “a hot mess”, let’s proclaim that we are blessed!
Sister, you lack absolutely NOTHING! Are you hearing the voice of the Lord? In Him, you have all that you need! Now, we are not ignorant to the fact that there are things that you may not have and there may be things that you desire-but lack is not your portion. In Christ, we shall not want.
The world can make us feel like we are lacking all that we need, all that we want, and all that we desire. Remove that concept of lack from the seat of your heart. It has no place, it’s sitting in the Father’s seat. As His child, how can we subscribe to the lies of the enemy?
Sisters, we have all we need! We don’t have to covet the things our family and friends have, your Heavenly Father is the very Creator of the Universe. He gave us the most precious gift we could ever receive, His One and Only Son. Salvation is priceless, joy cannot be priced, and peace is freely given to all who profess Christ. We do not have to want for anything.
Tell that ugly voice of lack to have a seat! It has no place with us. Tell Satan that he is a liar. The King of our heart will grant us the desires of our heart as we delight in Him. The only One we need is Christ.
Every time the perceived notion of lack tries to speak: whisper this truth over you: “And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
Blessings are usually equates to what we have, what we obtained and what we have received from the world. Ah, but the Lord defines blessed in a different, more beautiful way:
Your material possessions do not determine your blessings. Your ability to preach or sing or quote scripture doesn’t determine your blessings. Amazingly enough, your faith is your blessing meter! Mary is decreed blessed because she trusted in what the Lord was doing in her life. She trusted in what the Lord said to her by way of the angel.
You are blessed by the best because you believe in the Word of God. You are blessed because you know that God is not a man that He should lie. You are blessed because of your faith that can move mountains! Your blessed state isn’t the size of your bank account, it’s the size of your faith!
Mary was decreed blessed before she became pregnant with Jesus, she was blessed because she believed.
And so are you…so go on with your blessed self! 😉💜
