Habakkuk chose to rejoice. The prophet rejoiced even though:
“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls…” Habakkuk 3:17
The prophet didn’t focus on the drought or the barrenness of the land. The prophet focused on the Lord and His goodness. The prophet chose not to focus on what’s in the Lord’s hand but what’s in His heart.
Will we rejoice? Will we rejoice when the cupboards are bare? Will we rejoice when family drama seems to be intensifying? Will we rejoice when that door closes? Habakkuk was knowledgeable of the Lord His God and His capability to restore. The prophet knew that His Father was the Creator of the Universe. He knew that the promises of the Lord stand the test of time and complexity of our situations.
Rejoice regardless dear sisters! Rejoice in the Lord in the midst of the pandemic! Take joy in the Lord and regardless of your circumstances! Have plenty? Rejoice! Have little? Rejoice! Need answers? Take comfort in the God of your salvation! It’s not about what we see, it’s about what He said-Rejoice in the Lord, always!
Will we rejoice?
Peace and Blessings
