God of the Impossible…

Impossible is probably a word we use quite often or we will use a version of it: “that can’t be done”, “that won’t work”, “it will never happen”. Our eyes and our minds cannot fathom the impossible. However, if we think about it long enough, we know Someone who specializes in achieving the impossible! Let’s look to the Word:

Our Father specializes in the impossible! Amen?! Oh friends, if we can just imagine how mighty and powerful our God truly is, we would be scaling those mountains instead of bowing to them! If we can just grasp, how God created the universe-we would be able to accomplish that “impossible”.

There is absolutely NOTHING too hard for God! Write it, post it, repeat it everyday-there is nothing too hard for God! He accomplishes the impossible everyday. Will we trust in the One who specializes in the impossible? Will we give Him the dreams we fantasize about? The desire that just won’t go away? The prayer we’ve been praying since the beginning of time? And will we believe that He can do it? Trust in your Creator, He is for you!

“Dream big” may sound cliche but it’s what we are called to do. So go on and dream big! Fight that diagnosis in prayer, trust that life can be produced in a declared barren womb, and believe in the plan you have of being debt free! Put His promise into action. Make His promise the decree for your life. Don’t just shout on this truth, stand on it.

We know, we trust, and we lean on the God of the Impossible!

Salvation is available to all who desire it. Being saved is all about knowing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you don’t know Christ as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer with us:

“Father, I confess with my heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Thank you Father for saving me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.”

Congratulations, your salvation journey has now begun! If you prayed that prayer, let us know by emailing us at sistershelpingsisters757@gmail.com so we can continue supporting you on your journey!

The Parallel Process…

In the world of Human Services (and other professions), the parallel process is stressed. The concept is that as the operation of the agency affects how clients or families operate in their home.

For example, with home visiting, the supervisor is attentive, reflective, and supportive to their staff so that when the staff member goes into the home-they will also be reflective, supportive, and attentive to their families they are serving. In return, the hope is that the caregivers of the family will be supportive, reflective, and attentive to their children.

This parallel process is reflected in our relationship with God as well. God, the Father, loves us freely, forgives freely, and extends grace frequently. He does this as we accept Him. He does this as we ask Him. We, in return, are called to love others freely, forgive others freely, and extend grace to others frequently. As we do these things, perhaps others will do it in return. Perhaps as you love because you are loved, others will come to love God through Jesus Christ.

The next time someone makes you mad, frustrates you, or hurts you-remember the power of this process. Remember how you are loved without reservation. Remember how ALL our sins are forgiven. Remember the grace you freely receive everyday.

We know it’s hard to love and forgive those who are your enemies. It’s hard to extend grace to the same person about the same thing over and over again. But lean on the Lord for that strength, lean on the Lord for that encouragement, and lean on Him because He loves you and cares for you!

The parallel process in Christ helps you tell the world about Christ’s love and power! This process helps us to remember how we are loved and forgiven by the Lord. This process helps His name be spread around the world!

Tell the world about Christ with your love, forgiveness, and grace!

Completion.

The world wants you to think that you are unfinished until you obtain the next “thing”. Its always another item you need in order to be done, according to the world.

PhDs need specific certifications in order to get specific jobs. There is always a bigger home to obtain. There is always a bigger car to obtain. There is always a newer cell phone to get.

The world tells us that there is always something else you need in order to be complete. The lies of the enemy will have us continuing to search for the newest, biggest, shiniest “thing” to obtain so that we can say that we have arrived. Let’s stop falling for the lies and schemes of the enemy! He will have us chasing after the wind when Christ tells us that He is all we need. The Word says so:

Yes, pursue those goals. Yes, go after that certification. Yes, get that bigger home for your growing family. However, do it because you are complete in Christ, not because you are searching for completion. The Father knows that you are perfect in Him. The Father knows that nothing on this Earth will make you whole but Him as He is our Creator.

A husband is wonderful. Kids are lovely. New jobs are pretty cool. But nothing compares to God! Nothing compares to being content with where He has you. Nothing compares to His peace. The Author and the Finisher of your faith, the One who knows the number of hairs on your head-He is the only One who can complete you and make you whole. He is the One to pursue and He will lead you to those God-directed goals.

You are complete in Him, sis!

Their god to the Lord God…

Your life change a person’s life. Yep, yours. You may begin to reflect and see the tons of mistakes or rough choices that you’ve made and begin to number the reasons why that isn’t not true. But quite the contrary friend! The Lord can (and probably already have) use your life to be transformative!

You matter to your sphere of influence. Let’s look at Jonah. (This is a very abbreviated version!) He’s commanded by the Lord to go and preach to the people of Nineveh. Scared and unwillingly, he hops in a boat for elsewhere. A storm comes, those on the boat begin to cry out, “each to their god”:

“Then the mariners were afraid, and each cried out to his god. And they hurled the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep.” ‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

They cried out to a “little g”, someone who did not have the capability to save them. However, these men were not blind, they could discern that there was someone in their presence that could impact their situation for the better. Jonah was there, it was the Lord to whom they bowed. These unbelieving men cried out to the Lord because of the presence of Jonah:

See the transition?! They went from the little g to the One who could save their life! Jonah’s disobedience lead these men to cry out to the Living God! Now, this is not approving sin or disobedience-not at all! This passage of scripture tells us that we can be used to plant the Word of God into those who do not believe. This Word tells believers that they can water seeds already planted. We don’t know which of the men on the boat received salvation. But what we do know is that God’s name were on their lips.

You may say that you aren’t equipped. You may even be running right now from the Lord. Friend, you can ALWAYS be used by the Lord to bring forth salvation. Believe the Lord when He says that your light will shine in darkness. Believe the Lord when He tells you that your life matters. Believe the Lord when He leads you to call that unsaved loved one or encourage others, you can be the catalyst to introduce someone to Christ!

Know that no matter what you’ve done or what has been done to you, you can be used by the Lord for His glory and your good!

Their Eyes Are Watching God…

There are moments when our eyes can be our greatest liability. We can get incredibly distracted by what we see-limitations and obstacles can deter us from pursuing that which the Lord has willed for us. We will unfortunately pursue that which we deem pretty or attractive and that may be the very thing that will draw us away from the Lord.

And there are moments when our eyes can be our greatest asset. The Word of God highlights this moment beautifully:

The children of Israel, by the way of Jehoshaphat, knew that they had to take their eyes off of the upcoming battle and they had to look to the Lord! And the benefit was priceless! The prophet was able to encourage the people and they were successful in defeating the three armies headed towards them. They didn’t have to fight, they simply had to trust in the Lord, their God.

Eyes, in this regard, was more than the physical eye. Their heart, their very posture, had to turn toward the Lord! The battle coming was too much to bear and they knew that in this moment, their eyes could either be a liability or an asset. They chose to use their eyes as an asset.

Our eyes must be watching God! The mountain is too massive and the hurdle is too high. With your natural eye, you will be discouraged and experience defeat. Oh but with your supernatural eye, with that posture that you can do ALL things through Christ- you will scale that mountain and hop over that hurdle! Surrender that obstacle to the Lord, set your eyes on Him, and watch Him work it all for His glory and your good!

Are your eyes watching God?

I Got the Power!

Disclaimer: I’ve missed you all! My household came down with pneumonia, me included! We had to get better before I could come back here. To God be the glory, He’s a healer and we are all doing well! Pastor Tanya Coles

The Word of God tells us that we got the power! However, many believers do not operate with the power of God. How many times have we fallen victims to our circumstances? How many times have we let the massive nature of our mountains deter us from our intended goals? But we have the power! We have the power to overcome! We have the power to move those mountains!

So how do we tap into this power? Consider this quote: Spiritual authority is rooted in the knowledge of God. Tony Evans

We have the power because we know the Source of our power: God through Jesus Christ! The intimacy with our Lord will fuel us. The relationship with God cements our knowledge of His promises helps us remember that we have authority of what He accomplished through Jesus Christ. The Word of God exhorts believers to be knowledgeable of the Lord, our God:

Our good, good Father knows that He is our Source! Not only for health and wealth, but He is the Source of the power that lives within us! We have a Father who did not leave us alone and without resources to overcome, quite the contrary! He gave us the tool to be like Him, that is Jesus and the Holy Spirit!

You have the power! You have the authority! You are an overcomer! How? By knowing the Lord, by loving the Lord, and by growing in Him! Our power comes from intimacy with our Creator!

When we grow, we able to go! Scream at the top of your lungs: “I got the power through God to overcome!” Now go forth and climb that mountain, you can do it, friend! The Lord gave YOU the power through Jesus Christ!

Peace and Blessings
