It’s Not Over…

These certain feel like the end times, businesses are closed, certain states have closed schools until the end of the years, mass unemployment, mass illness, shortage of supplies—no wonder fear is creeping up in folks’ spirits.

Friends, may we fret not! It is not over! Each and every day we wake up and take a breath, we should be reminded that life is not over. After this is all said and done, a new normal will certainly be established, however, it is not over.

We as believers still have a duty and responsibility to minister to the lost. There are still folks out there that are discouraged, despondent, and downright scared. As long as there is breath in our bodies, we must preach the gospel. We must be the light that seems to be dimming quite rapidly.

Lawlessness, the love of many being made cold, wars, rumors of wars, false prophets, are all very present. Plagues, disease, false witnesses and the list goes on.

May we encourage you? Even in the midst of pain, destruction, and confusion, Jesus is present too. And He is greater.

Each time you witness, each time you choose love over hate, every time you opt to be peaceful–the Holy Spirit is demonstrating that He is also here and with us. So continue to do that which you were called to do.

Families can still be restored. The blood of Jesus still works. Ministries can still be birthed. Books still need to be written. Your mission and purpose is still needed.

It is not over, continue doing your good work…

Experiences + Emotions = …

We are a people gifted with emotions. Think about a certain movie, perhaps one that makes you cry. Maybe there is one that makes you laugh. A certain experience will produce certain emotion. And that’s simply how we are crafted.

Think about the last or sermon you heard. You probably left service ready to go and change the world or ready to start a ministry that day! But let a few days go by and the feeling fades away.

Our time with the Lord has to move beyond experiences and emotions. Once the tears stop flowing, the fire dies down in our bellies, and we stand up after being knocked off our feet by the Word, what happens next? The emotions are appropriate and we need the experiences, and after both are done, we need the lifestyle change.

We must transition from experiences and emotions to transformations…

In the presence of the Lord, we must be transformed. Each time we enter into His presence, we come out better, stronger, and wiser. We come out prepared for whatever fiery darts awaits us.

Experience + emotions must equal transformation. Transformation is that change that lasts. It keeps the fire lit, it starts that book you long to write, and it ignites that ministry that will change your community!

Don’t let the power just fall away. Let your quiet time empower you for the day ahead, not just the moment. Prayer should embolden you for the obstacles ahead.

Be transformed.

The present of His presence…

God’s presence is indeed a present, an amazing gift that surpasses anything this world could offer. And what an important time to maintain that gift!

Believers have and duty and responsibility to seek out the presence of the Father. While it keeps our nerves at bay, it empowers and strengthen the light that dwells within us. That light is needed for such a time as this.

Have you unwrapped His present today? Have you sough out the presence of the Almighty God? You needed it! Those appointed to you need it. This world needs you to indulge in your gift!

Fear is running rampant, the present of His presence is the cure. The exhortation of the Word tells us why:

The fullness of joy that you receive in the Lord’s presence is JUST what this world needs now! It’s going to be evident in your walk, talk, and conduct. While the world is worrying over toilet paper, your calm voice and demeanor will be just what they need. While everyone is afraid of anyone who coughs, you’ll be the one smiling and extending grace.

Perhaps you are saying to yourself, “but I’m scared too…” Fear not friend and get into the presence of the Father. Unwrap your gift! Pursue your present. The fullness of joy awaits, not only you, but those whom are in your sphere of influence.

Wisdom in important in this season, and that’s found in His presence. Knowledge is important in this season, and that’s found in His presence. Joy is needed, His presence has it.

Unwrap your present.

Improve to be approved…

We, as women, are always looking for a way to improve ourselves. We connect with the latest fashion, the latest hairstyle, or try out the latest exercise movement or diet. Staying relevant helps to connect us with our community. And trying out the latest fashion, hairstyle, or exercise may prove to be just what we needed to get healthier or become rejuvenated.

We improve to be approved; approved by our spouses for that extra spice or simply ourselves to strengthen our confidence and add an extra pep in our step.

However, let’s consider this from the spiritual perspective? Do we ever seek out to improve to be approved by God?

Let’s make this important caveat: God approves of you already. He loves you exactly as you are. There is absolutely nothing you can do to make Him love you even more than He already does. God’s love is gifted to you as you become His.

Approval carries a different definition when considering our faith. Approval is about bearing the wisdom and discernment to properly handle the word of truth. And improvement, from this perspective, is all about strengthening our knowledge of the word of God:

We improve to be approved as appropriate handlers of God’s word! Your education level and your church attendance has nothing to do with your handling of the word of God. It’s all about what you do AFTER Sunday’s service!

As believers, we must correctly handle and divide the word of truth. How can we be ministers of the Gospel but unable to accurately discern the word of truth? There are lost sheep waiting to hear and learn about God’s word.

So we study. We read. We pray. We fast. We surrender to the power and authority of the Holy Spirit. We humble ourselves. We repent. We receive sound, biblical teaching. We hear the Word. We do the Word.

So strengthen that walk, appropriately season that talk-improve to be approved!

Illusion of Control…

One may enjoy control because perhaps there is a belief that it can frame an outcome…

One may enjoy control simply because they enjoy having power…

Another may seek out control to prevent from being hurt or betrayed…

Control, however, can often times be an illusion and the only form of control that is an reality is self-control. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7

You cannot control what happens to you. You can simply control your response to the situation. Regardless of what you may believe, you cannot control another person. Everyone was given free-will. No matter how much you think you control an situation, you can still be hurt or betrayed.

Stop giving into the illusion of control. It is a false sense of reality. It is not of God. Your plans can still fail no matter how much you think you are in control. Go on ahead and surrender, life can be so much sweeter when you accept what is in front of you and not force it to bend to your will, your way.

Surrender to His plan and His will. Accept the flaws of your loved ones. Don’t get worked up over the traffic that you encounter on the way to work or school. Be at peace with the plan going left instead of right.

You are not in control, and that, my friend, is okay.

Instead of focusing on your perceived control, set your sights on the One who is truly over all things…

The one…

We are a people whom seem to be infatuated with numbers. We are very concerned with the number of likes a post gets, the number on the scale, and the number of our bank account. We like high numbers on our paychecks. We like low numbers on the scale. We would like to have more than one car. The number of degrees matter. The number of vacations we take. If we take inventory, there is definitely a number that is sure to get our attention.

For Jesus, He found Himself concerned with the one. Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” Luke 15:7

We were once, the one. We were the lost sheep that needed to be found. Rejoice even now that Jesus wasn’t concerned with maintaining the 99. He wasn’t concerned about higher numbers. He was willing to sacrifice it all for the one. He tenderly cares for the one. He is ALWAYS concerned about the one!

Be concerned about the one. Be concerned about that one family member, that one co-worker, that one post that’s a cry for help. The one needs your service. The one needs your testimony. The one needs your prayers.

And that one could change the world.

The One did change the world….

Are you faith-full? Let’s not confuse being faith-full with being faithful. Being faithful is all about commitment, dedication, and loyalty. This is about being faith-full, full of faith.

This is about believing God beyond what you see. This is about believing God beyond what they say. This is about believing God for the BIG dreams. This is about being full of faith in a world that tells us that believing in something we cannot see or touch is ridiculous.

Being faith-full gets us through the tough times. It takes our eyes off of our situation and place them onto our faithful God. Being faith-full moves mountains, destroys yokes, and breaks generational issues.

Your mustard seed of faith must be activated at all times. We must believe against all odds and no matter the obstacles in our way.

We serve the limitless God, whom has unlimited power, and loves us unconditionally. Believe in Him. Be faith-full. He can move your mountain. He can change your life. He is the One whom has saved your soul. Be faith-full in YOUR Creator.

Trust in the One who has the whole world in His hands.

He is Intentional…

While the heading may bring to mind the popular song by Travis Greene, let’s also consider the book of Exodus.

Exodus is a beautiful story of the children of Israel transition from Egypt. The book chronicles the people’s transition and gives a detailed description of what life should look like as they head to new territory. God gives intricate details of what the priest robes should look like, how the ark should be made, and who should do the work.

Our Lord was intentional then, and He is intentional now. We cannot miss His attention to detail. The construction of the Tabernacle was detailed from the top to the bottom, including the utensils and lamp stands!

He’s intentional and He cares about every nook and cranny of your life. He cares about the parts you rave about and the corners that you try to hide. He wants to mold and craft each and every part of your life. He cares about the parts you cry about in private and your future dreams. He is able to craft your path to success. He is able to assign the right people to help you on your way. He assures that provision is available for every need that you may have.

So view Exodus and it’s details from a different perspective. As He did it for the children of Israel, He will also do it for you. As you give it to Him, He will provide and He will create.

He is intentional…
